TAO Part II
Let's talk about the food. First of all, they have an extensive Asian Menu, there's items on their menu for every type of diet.
Drinks
I tried the Lychee Martini it was good. I would recommend
Then we got Lychee Shots also was really good
We also had the Lobster Wontons (shiitake ginger broth), I highly recommend. Those wontons were full of real lobster pieces and the broth was really good. I don't eat mushrooms so I pushed those to the side.
Fresh Oysters (ponzu mignonette), I highly recommend. They are pricey now....but get them! The accompaniments make the oysters taste amazing.
Shrimp Tempura (wasabi honey sauce) was everything, get these too!
Also tried had two other spicy tuna rolls one regular and one crispy roll. They were ok, in my opinion skip those.
We also got the dessert platter. It was amazing! We got to try every desert served at Tao, plus fresh fruits and it came with Sparklers. My favorites were the carrot cake, it came in a like an edible flowerpot and lil pieces of carrots. They get A+ in creativity for this platter. Then the Mandarin looks like a regular orange sitting in some sorbet, once we cracked the orange it had (orange mousse, mandarin compote, citrus granita.) mix it with the sorbet perfect combo, loved this one so much.
All the other deserts were good too, chocolates, the chocolate molten cake and the mochi.
I read somewhere, that someone compared Tao to Komodo here in Miami saying they are pretty much the same experience. No ma'am I can see the comparison as far as aesthetics and vibes. However, Tao's food taste way better in my opinion.
I can go on and on about that platter. It is a lot! And an awesome experience, if you order the dessert platter make sure you’re there with a big party to eat it. We did end up eating up all the cold desserts and packed everything else up to go.
