Marina Village in Ft Lauderdale

I'm a lil late to this one, but we here! It opened in September of last year. It's a Food haul located across the street from Ft Lauderdale Beach. The location is really nice, good views and breezes with access to the beach.

This Haul has 8 different food kiosk and a bar. Plus the Shorely which is a ferry turned
to lounge on the water. It's really cute all the aesthetics. Keep in mind that The Shorely is 21+

It's a cute day spot, that's when I went, however it is available in the evenings too. It would be a cute spot to watch the sunset too by the way. Great spot for day/night dates, girls' days or just family. Decent food and drink options and dessert there too. Everything in one spot.

Its a versatile spot, you can hang out at the beach then stop by to get food and drinks. Or you can get cute and come hang out......it's up to you!

As of right now the parking is at Bahia Mar Marina, and it's $10 for three hours. I'm pretty sure that's going to eventually increase. Actually, it could be different rates depending on the day of the week and season.....I suggest calling ahead.

By the way, this is where I had the Detroit Style Pizza. Which was pretty good, but you should already know I am a New York Style Pizza type of girl.

P.S. Everything was super clean, even the bathrooms. Hope this area stays that way.

Happy April Everyone!

April please be good to us. We know that April Showers bring May flowers...and we love and appreciate you for that.....but give us a lil more sunshine than rain this month, please! Specially here in S FL.

I can't speak for everybody, but I personally want to be outside.

Other things I plan to enjoy this month is Easter of course and Good Friday, Palm Sunday.... all that! We get to celebrate the Risen King all month long. For some it's Passover season

Earth Day

I don't do April Fools...so there's that

Cherry Blossom season is also coming to an end soon, I like Cherry Blossoms personally. I went to DC last year and enjoyed them. I'm hoping to catch Cherry Blossom season in Japan eventually. But Tulips are here for the entire Spring Season. Get into Tulips!

Also, Spring Break is winding down, hope you were able to get a "break" and enjoy this season.

P.S. Don't forget to file those Taxes, the 4/15 deadline is approaching

Been Outside........Look at What Caught My Eye

First of all, it's Spring, I love to see the gardening sections thrive. Everywhere you go it's about plants and flowers. By the way, low key I'm becoming a Tulip Girl too.

It's always Trader Joes plants section for me.

Spring has Sprung!

Havaiana's are Back

AKA flip-flops, truth be told for some they never left. Ever since "slides" came on the scene people made the switch and honestly, I was one of them that jumped on that band wagon, because I was tired of having something between my toes.

I'm glad they are back though cause I missed wearing them and I like the feel of flip-flops. It was a S FL staple and not just for the beach either, we wore them everywhere over here.

I still kept two pairs of my flip-flops, one is a Tory Burch which I purchased back then for about $20. Right now on her website her flip-flops are starting at $69....not me girl.

I also saw some of her leather flip-flops at Nordstrom Rack for $100. You don't have to get name brand flip-flops, as long as they are good quality and won't have you slipping and sliding who cares who made them.

S.N. I still love me a good pair of Dad sandals too. I'm keeping those in my rotation.

I just want a few more colors of Havaianas for Spring and Summer and maybe the animal print too.

Lunch time!
Pollo Campero

I am late to the party, for this one…….and you may be even later. I just discovered this new location in Plantation, Fl.

However Pollo Campero's are all across the country, I have seen them while travelling and never consider trying. Surprisingly to me….they are from Guatemala. Ohhh and by the way, now I want to go to Guatemala! Cause based on this restaurant they can season some chicken and now I’m intrigued.

If you see one, go ahead and pull up on the drive thru or better yet go inside. By going inside, you can enjoy the aromas of the food being prepared and enjoy the freshly made Jamaica (Hibiscus Drink). Which is self serve.

One might say it is comparable to a Pollo Tropical, also based on the name ….in my opinion Pollo Campero is way better. Pollo Campero chicken is well seasoned and you will taste the season all the way to the bone, juicy and tender. It is advertised as flavorful, they not lying y’all.

The prices were also reasonable, and they have 2-, 3- and 4-piece options, family meals, chicken sandwiches etc. You can get your chicken mixed and so I did. Both the grilled and fried chicken are very good!

I will say the rice portion is small and or typical of fast food size. I like the Campero Rice over the rice and beans.

Oh yeah they have signature sauce, you don’t need it. I promise. But if your girl that like to dip, get it!

I highly recommend this one, I can't speak for the rest of the Pollo Campero’s across the country because I haven't tried them. But this the one here in Plantation

Spring has Sprung!

I'm ready for the warmer weather and ice cream season

Recently Jeni's Ice Cream was on sale......and of course I got the Goey Butter Cake.

I also picked up Gelaty’s ice cream bar from Whole Foods. This is similar to the viral Dubai Choclate bar. You taste the Pistachios and the chocolate, however not the filling of the actual chocolate bar.....I guess since it's an ice cream it wouldn't have the same effect as the chocolate bar because of the shredded phyllo pastry. That still didnt stop them from making it as expensive as the chocolate bar. This ice cream bar cost about $6.

Then one afternoon, I was strolling after lunch and stopped in an Italian Gelato Shop and got a scoop of their Pistachio Gelato. It was really good, and also expensive. I would highly recommend though.
I wonder of this is pistachio season?

A Photo Dump!

I'm limiting what I share about my birthday trip this year due to the lack of engagement on your part. However, I can't help but share these pictures—this trip was truly perfect for me from the location, locals, and the weather….it was giving exotic island. I really enjoyed the fact that it was quiet and peaceful. It’s not one of those popular spots that’s over crowded and or over rated.

Food Dairies

Tuna Sub, I am trying to rotate between Turkey & Tuna. This was pretty good, tuna at home is way better...... at least you know it’s real tuna being used. Plus, you get more than one scoop! I used the Cuban Bread from Publix. It was really good, bread does matter. So be selective.

Shrimp & Grits, these were amazing! Grits were super creamy, the more I make grits the better they get.

Crab Cakes were actually purchased from Fresh Market. I made my own Remoulade sauce. The crab cakes were on sale 2/$5. After having crab cakes from Maryland.....nothing compares. I just taste fillers.

Spinach with Smoke Herring and sweet plantains. I added side of grits and avocado

Baked chicken thighs......I am trying to give chicken wings a break.

Burger and Fries, I was attempting to make smash burgers per my daughter’s request. I needed to use less meat to thin/smash it out. Lesson learned.

Sourdough Toast with Cheddar Cheese Spread and nectarines , topped with Hot Honey & Balsamic Glaze

Vanilla Greek Yogurt with Apple and Honey Almond Granola. I actually like this breakfast, when ever I have it I feel like I’m doing something good for my body.

Turkey Sub. You should already know it’s my favorite sub.

Beef Dumpling was ok for what it was. Which is prepackaged. I’m sure it would’ve tasted much better at restaurant. I also had Spicy Soy Noodles with Shrimp. Orange Hibiscus drink taste like sparkling water. I used another ramen brand it’s Momofuku. They are actually a New York Based Restaurant. Anyway, packet has no flavor. I’ve decided to stop using the season packets in general. They aren’t good for us will be making my own moving forward which will be better for me, hence lm going to use less sodium and basically make it my own.

Salmon Bites in Dill and Spinach Sauce, Cheddar Mashed Potatoes and Broccoli. Ok…. Next time I’m going to try something different when it comes to salmon. I been wearing this recipe out.

I really am enjoying cooking my meals. Theres lot of benefits to this option, most importantly it's cost effective (especially in this economy), you'll have more than one serving, and you get to make it your way. I think about the cost for each of these meals and to that ........I say not me girl. I got food at home.

I made a Honeydew Lychee Juice that also added lime, mint and cucumber 🥒

The drink smells so refreshing and taste good. In my opinion it was earthy…. Don’t know how else to describe it. It’s becoming one of my favorites.
P.S. those are lychee on the stick/flamingo

So glad I can cook and make my own fresh juice. It cost a fraction of the price of sitting at somebody restaurant or juice bar…. Not me girl, not anymore.
