You owe it to yourself to find out who these organizations are and what they stand for. Become a member, they sued NY.

It was New York Rifle and Pistol Association that took the long expensive route to hand us the Bruen decision. So if you are not a member of New York Rifle and Pistol Association you need to fix that.

New York responded with new incredibly restrictive laws. Gun owners of America has sued New York. If you are not a member of Gun Owners of America you need to fix that as well, these lawsuits are expensive.

In light of the current NY laws, its my job to make sure it comes back to bite them in the butt by equipping those that do take the 18hr course to buy the right first gun for them and increase their confidence so they practice and then carry comfortably, safely and often. I think doing that is the second best pointy tall finger tactic I can do to NY after voting. Third is be a NYSRPA and GOA member as they are bringing the legal pain to Albany.
FYI draw from concealment, 6, reload, 6 more. Fb does not like pictures of guns and words like dra_conian

This effects ALL of us
From my friends at Rochester Personal Defense
David Jenkins and company

IMPORTANT MESSAGE
Hello everyone.
Each of you have attended a course with us or are registered to do so. I am writing to you because YOUR instructors need your assistance with something.

Regarding the new NYS CCW License course:

NY Legislators have proposed a bill to remove an NRA certified instructor from the law that allows us to provide valuable training. The law is proposed out of spite and hatred for those that are seeking reliable and competent training to obtain their pistol licenses. They don't want you to exercise your rights.

A little history. The NRA education programs have been around since 1871 and have been the leading authority in basic fi****ms education ever since. When people look to civilian based fi****ms safety instruction, the first place they look is towards an NRA Instructor.

Here's what you can do to help:

Contact your state assembly member and express your concerns and wishes. Ask them to not support this bill. You can even cut and paste the following into an email OR use this as a script when you call them. I suggest you do both.

Cut and paste the following into an email:

"Hello, my name is ----‐-------and I am calling about Assembly Bill 6663 which would forbid NRA Instructors from teaching the 18 hour course that is currently required for people to apply for their pistol licenses.

I would urge you to oppose this bill.

Many NRA instructors have authored high quality courses and have been teaching them since last September.

Many course certificates have been issued then accepted by sheriff's offices all over the state and applicants are indeed getting their pistol licenses.

NRA instructors cannot be shut out of the process of providing this service to the public. THEY are the conduit for quality Civilian training.

NRA Instructors and their students are your constituents. They cannot be prevented from both offering quality Civilian Training, nor prevented from obtaining Training.

And they all vote.

Once again, please do not support this bill. Let it die in committee.

Thank you so much for your time. I may be reached at -------------- if you would wish to discuss this Bill further. I would welcome the dialogue and chance to communicate with you on these matters. "

You can find your Assembly person here:

https://nyassembly.gov/mem/search/?fbclid=IwAR3wXfy5hWkblaakMgxrQcY4HC9w9D1bAMFYKKtKmUofrzUfuCwEba4XOU4

You were afforded a professionally taught course. If everyone does not get involved, then others will not receive the same. They will be subjected to a lesser quality course and will not be as educated as you are.

Please take a few minutes of your day and send an email AND call your representative. Only you can make this happen. WE are counting on your help!

Thank you!

Guest Shot: Why? | Tactical Wire

I would consider Dave Spaulding way, way up at the top of my instructor list, Very good advice right here, My own mentor still says "9 times out of ten the result is due to the nut behind the gun" not anything to do with the actual gun or ammo...If YOU don't know why, the the questions has to be asked, Why? Tactics are always more important than equipment. Part of tactics is training and practice. Instead of that fancy equipment, buy training and more ammo instead !

If you have ever been in one of my classes, you know I am a BIG believer in asking students “why”? It is a cognitive process; you know…process information…roll it around in your brain… which is always a good thing when preparing for conflict. According to my old, worn out (paper!) version ...

6 Reasons a Pistol-Caliber Carbine Makes Sense

I have pushed Pcc use for years. Less muzzle blast makes them a pleasure to practice with. Marlin camp 9 and the just right carbine are other choices. I would also include the m1 carbine. All very effective for home defense because everyone in the home can feel comfortable practicing with them. And practice is the most important criteria of all. People in my house are happy to practice with a pcc. Switch to the gun everyone says you should have, the shotgun, and that desire to practice vanishes.

If you’re looking for “most powerful” then you’d always choose a rifle caliber over a pistol carbine and a carbine over a pistol.

Unexpected Benefits of Competitive Shooting

And the one they did not stress enough, it's really FUN !

For some shooters, the word "competition" may be a little intimidating. It conjures up images of athletes who, no matter what target they face, can place their shot in the bullseye with little to no effort. I hear this explanation many times as a reason for not engaging in the shooting sports or com...

Tactical Tuesday
Why should you compete?
It's been a while since I wrote one of these. I have been busy dry firing and live firing, going to matches and teaching "try before you buy" and prepermit classes. I just finished my first ever G***k Sport Shooting Foundation match and I made a few observations. I worked both days and shot the match with different guns both days.

Working, I saw several competitors with fails... usually poor technique or ammo choice, not the guns. Almost to a person they said "it never does this in practice!" REALLY NOW. of course it (you) doesn't do it in practice. You don;t shoot like this in practice!

Sunday I shot my G***k 19 which has fiber optic sights and a 3.5 lb g***k trigger connector and also my bone stock G17. Shooting the guns back to back I learned the G19 trigger is faster to operate than the G17. I would have never noticed that if I had not run them back to back under the stress of competition. I had real problems shooting the 19 first and then the 17. When I did the slower gun first it worked much better for me.

I love to shoot competitively and I have been trying to get myself to my first GSSF match for THREE years. GSSF matches are open to brand new shooters as well as the masters. This year I made it happen. I had more than a bit of anticipation going on with that kind of build up. I was nervous all inside my own head. My entire upper body was trembling and sweating... and the beep sounded and I was off to do business... Did I tell you that they give away guns at this match? Focused in on my front sight and my trigger finger I just could not get that G17 trigger to run as fast as my brain ! Where else can you get anywhere close to this kind of stress? Well there was that incident in November I had with eating 3/4 of a peach pie, but you will have to scroll back to read that one.

Well a real self defense situation might present this kind of body activity. Does competition give perfect defensive practice? No it does not.

But it does give you the body response you won't get in practice.

It does give you a problem to solve while your body is wound up like practice can't.

It does magnify issues with your equipment like practice never will.

Most of all it does magnify issues with your technique like practice never will.

Mac used to say: "It's mostly the nut behind the gun!" And so I compete and then train on the weaknesses I uncovered in the match...
Time to go, I have work to do...
You do dry fire don't you?
