Roller coaster manufacturer Gerstlauer announced it will be building a coaster in the United States opening May 2022. All signs are pointing to Cedar Point. The coaster would be similar to The Smiler and Hangtime pictured below. It was also noted the coaster would be world record breaking. Our guess is the most inversions. The current record is 14. Cedar fair has not made any announcements or confirmation at this time.

Cedar Point's Tony Clark asks "What's in the envelope?" as the teasing campaign for CP's 2021 attraction begins. The latest and strongest rumor seems to be a single rail 500 foot coaster by RMC. The park as well as RMC have not confirmed any information. Stay tuned..

Six Flags announced today a new park in Saudi Arabia. The park will feature the tallest, fastest and longest coaster ever built, Falcon's flight. The park is set to open in 2023. No stats have been revealed. To break those records, the coaster would have to be taller than 456 feet, faster than 148 mph, and longer than 8000 feet.

King's Island unveils Orion. A 300 ft giga coaster with a top speed of 91 MPH and a track length of 5,321 ft. The ride duration is 3 minutes and riders must be at least 54 inches tall. The massive coaster is set to open Spring 2020.

One more day until King's Island announces it's major 2020 addition. The mystery coaster is expected to be 305 feet or taller and is being referred to as "The End Of The World As We Know It". Stay tuned..(Polaris?)

Hershey park announcing their 15th roller coaster today. Candymonium will have a height of 210 feet, a top speed of 76 mph and a length of 4,636 feet. The hyper coaster will be located in the park's brand new Chocolate Town. A $150M investment. Riders of Candymonium must be at least 54 inches tall. Hershey park is set to open the newest coaster for the 2020 season.

A Cedar Point rumor from a former Cedar Fair "Higher Up" from a couple of years ago on an online forum is starting to make more sense. Among several projects the former employee mentioned was a launched flying coaster. He said Cedar Fair was looking into possible flying roller coaster tech. Also, he said the company was seeking a loop record near 200+ feet (a pretzel knot loop specifically-shown below on Banshee at Kings Island). The two rumors were always said to be separate but knowing CP, we can assume they are related if the rumors are accurate. There were always two major issues with this rumor until now. 1. Where would there be enough room for such a large element? 2. No coaster companies had touted a good working design for flying coaster trains let alone launch technology worthy of such a ride. Cedar Point cleared a large lot of land near Valravn. Vekoma claims they have perfected the flying coaster design with launch capability with F.L.Y. currently under construction at Phantasialand, None of these rumors are confirmed and there is currently no proof of a coaster coming to Cedar Point. We like to put pieces together to try to make sense of things. This is the fun part though, figuring out what Cedar Point has planned. What are your thoughts?

Blueprints for what looks like a massive steel roller coaster at King's Island were filed today in Mason, Ohio. Dennis Speigel, one of the original designers of King's Island said without a doubt, "This is a giga coaster, over 300 feet." The park refused to comment at this time but rumors among executives point to 355 feet which would make it the tallest giga coaster in the world. 30 feet taller than Fury325 at Carowinds which is the number one rated coaster ever. Cedar Fair also trademarked the names Orion and Polaris adding fuel to the speculation.

Cedar Point's Vice President and General Manager Jason McClure hinted at one new attraction planned for 2020 in an interview with WKYC-3. He said do not expect a 500 foot coaster for Cedar Point's 150th anniversary next year. He did confirm that there would be a ride opening next Summer saying, "It'd be weird to have an anniversary without some kind of ride,"

Enthusiasts have speculated for years about CP's 2020 attraction. Years ago Cedar Fair confirmed that all of their larger parks would receive a Triotech dark ride/coaster. With land next to Valravn across the perimeter road being cleared, one has to wonder if the 2020 attraction will be in that area. Rumors have also pointed to a GCI wooden coaster for several years now. With the possibility of King's Island getting a giga coaster next Summer, the chances of Cedar Point also getting a large scale attraction are small.

Busch Gardens Tampa announcing yesterday that they will build North America's Tallest, and the world's fastest and steepest hybrid coaster for the 2020 season. The tagline 2020Rising was mentioned in the post. No official stats have been released in terms of Height or length.

King's Island announced today that the Firehawk roller coaster will be removed after this season. Theories on the removal center around 2020 rumors of an upcoming giga coaster. The park could not confirm future plans at this time.

Cedar Point has announced an interactive attraction to replace Dinosaurs Alive. "Be immersed in interactive encounters with the island inhabitants, push yourself with physically active challenges that test your resourcefulness and fortitude!" The experience debuts Summer of 2019.

Cedar Point's sister park Carowinds is teasing the park's biggest announcement in it's history. The park already has the world's number one rated steel coaster Fury325 (pictured). The numbers 3255 and 530 were mentinoned in the tease campaign. The official announcement is set for August 30th.

Canada's Wonderland unveiled plans this week for the world's tallest, fastest, and longest dive coaster. Yukon Striker's first drop will be 31 feet taller than Valravn at Cedar Point. It will also be the first dive coaster with a 360 degree vertical loop.

Steel Vengeance in our opinion is not only the best roller coaster at Cedar Point, but the best we have ever experienced. A perfect layout. Tons of airtime and a constant pulling feeling of pure speed. Move over Maverick.

Cedar Fair owned California Great America submits documentation to the FAA for large steel 236 foot construction in 2019. Most likely a hyper coaster like the one seen in this photo.
