We are super excited to be staying at the Davenport for our upcoming trip to Ireland!!!
We are in a junior suite, which boasts 376 sq ft of space with a king bed and a pull out sofa bed. Complimentary access to the Executive Lounge is included with this room category. 🙌🏼

We chose to include the breakfast option. We like to eat at the hotel before heading out for the day. It’s convenient and usually if you add ahead of time it’s cheaper.

A couple nights at the Jersey Shore is good for the soul 🌊🐚
Sea Isle only had a few places that rent nightly rather than weekly. The Colonnade Inn is one of them! Built in 1883, each unit is individually owned so they are all uniquely decorated. This one is mine, “Rosings Park”. Welcome to my happy place!

Highlands, castles, bagpipes and hairy coos- it doesnae get much more “Scottish” than that!
We took a full day Scottish Highlands Tour with The Hairy Coo touring company. From the minute we saw the bus and Stephen introduced himself, we knew we were in for a fun day. This is a long tour and you’re on a bus most of the day. As someone who usually hates road trips, I can tell you this one is great. This was fun, informative and beautiful enough that you barely noticed you had ridden a bus for hundreds of miles within one 12 hour day. We left from Edinburgh and headed to the sleepy town of Calender, passing by some major landmarks like the Kelpies, Stirling Castle, and Doune Castle as we made our way up north. We stopped for breaks and scenic photo ops along the way which broke up the trip nicely. Some stops included Loch Lomond, Glencoe, Fort Augustus at Loch Ness, the town of Pitlochery and more. Stephen, our guide and driver was fantastic. A true Scot, he had a great sense of humor, a knack for storytelling & a great playlist for our crazy long day together. We loved listening to him and learning about the history of the places we were visiting as well as general Scottish culture info. Great way to pass the time. The scenery along the way was truly beautiful. This particular trip would probably not be good for young kids. My 14 year old did like it bc she is really into history and nature so this was perfect for her. She also likes road trips so that was a plus! But for teens and adults, this is a perfect option. We are so glad that we took this trip and would recommend the Hairy Coo for your highlands day trip too! This is something I can book for you! I’m happy to add it to your Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Itinerary. Let’s talk!!!

It’s been quite a day!
Made our way over to Scotland from Belgium today! Staying in Edinburgh for a few days. Travel days are always open for exploring the area. So we walked the Royal Mile! Saw Edinburgh Castle and took a stroll all the way down to Palace of Hollyroodhouse, which is closed this week due to a Royal Visit. (I told them they didn’t have to close just bc I’m here. I mean the King is here too but… Sheesh. Lol 😉) Lit a candle in St Giles Cathedral, which celebrates its 900th birthday this year!
Tomorrow is our Highlands tour. I can’t wait to see the Highland Cows!!!

Visit the Chocolate Nation and enter chocolate heaven!!! You’ll learn all about the process of Belgian chocolate making from harvesting all the way to tasting chocolate at the end. This tour presents lots of educational information in a fun, interactive way using an audio guide so everyone can listen in their own language. You’ll see chocolatiers making their own special creations for sale in the Chocolate Nation shop at the end of the tour. Keep walking past the chocolatiers and you’ll enter “Chocolate Heaven”, the tasting portion!!! You’ll get to try 8 distinctly different chocolate flavors. Our favorites were the Arriba and the Power 41. We grabbed a few bars in the shop on the way out to share with our family at home. Seriously, the best chocolate we’ve ever tasted!!! We highly recommend adding this experience to your Antwerp, Belgium itinerary. 🇧🇪

Definitely worth seeing if beautiful ornate European Cathedrals are your thing. They’re definitely mine…
