Make sure you’re selling to the decision-maker or someone who influences the decision-maker. Before your meeting, do some investigation to make sure you are speaking with the right person. Before you place your stamp of approval on any material representing your business, take another look. Remove anything written in a passive tone of voice. Give customers a good first impression - you rock and you know it, so show it!

Instead of having one webpage dedicated to testimonials, scatter them throughout your entire website. Even better, put testimonials on the page relevant to the product or service you're offering. Your customers will more likely read the testimonial and it may help close the sale.

Host an event to get your business in front of potential customers. This is a great opportunity to allow potential customers to see the face behind the business and get to know you better. At the event, you can display examples of your work, hold a contest, or give away promotional items which allow customers to learn more about the products and/or services you offer.

Ask the Right Questions
In an interview, ask questions that help you understand the character of the candidate. Asking a potential employee, “How would your friends describe you?” is a good place to start. Watching how they answer a difficult question is a good indicator on how they perform under stress. Remember, how they come up with a response is almost as important as the response itself.

You know a lot, but you can’t know everything. When you need knowledge outside of your own level of expertise, reach out to your network. Asking for help allows you to focus on the things that you do best without spending valuable time trying to figure it out on your own.

Once your data backup is in place, make a point to periodically check it. Every few months, put a reminder on your calendar to practice restoring your data. This will give you peace of mind and confidence that you can restore your data if necessary.
