Super cool Food Network spotlight of my favorite shave ice place on Maui! We make shave ice just like this, shaved from a block creating super fine snow, and then flavored with flavor extracts/concentrates imported from hawaii! Don't be fooled by crunched ice chip imitations! Summer is coming! It's shave ice season...yum!

Pure Aloha Shave Ice will be selling our fluffy shave ice tomorrow at the Potter Valley Country Classic beginning at 10am. Getting excited for this year's Potter Valley Country Classic on October 1st!!

I came across this interesting video about the history of the Hawaiian cowboy, known as the Paniolo. It's interesting to learn about the cowboy life in Hawaii....similar to the mainland but still very unique in it's own right.

Shave Ice at a work luncheon today. This one is made from fresh strawberries, pineapple and coconut. Fruit is naturally sweet so this has very little added sugar. It's practically good for you!

I had the opportunity to do a ground tour of the B-17 at the Ukiah Airport! It was pretty neat to walk inside a WWII aircraft, and one that is still operational to boot. I think its one of 12 or 13 left that can still fly. The tour guide wasn't sure when it would be able to come back to Ukiah again....so definitely check this out today, if you have the opportunity, while it's still here. It's free for children and costs $10 for adults. And, while you are there, grab some ono hawaiian shave ice from Pure Aloha Shave Ice before you leave!!
