(…A little out of trip order, but) We had an awesome opportunity to help celebrate a special birthday with one of Gavin’s super special friends from Ky, Emmaline, at Disney yesterday! Happy “626” 9th Birthday!! 🤩🎉🌊🎂

Day 15: Thur, June 20- MK, Hotel Hopping, Campfire🔥
Started the day at Magic Kingdom to use our last passholder preview for Tianas Bayou. Didn’t do much else there; since it was pretty hot already after the morning rain shower. We decided we’d hop around to a few Disney hotels instead to see what snacks we could find. We of course needed to find some Beignets to honor the feel of Tiana’s. Onward to the buses, and a short ride over to Port Orleans French Quarter it was!
I had heard how good the beignets were over there, but we had never gone over to get them until today! Omg, they were hot and fluffy- so good!! If you can ever get over there, you won’t be disappointed! We then grabbed the first bus out from there which landed us at Animal Kingdom. It only made sense our next hotel to explore would be to the Lodge.
To our surprise, we walked right into an impromptu character meet ‘n greet! Super awesome to sneak in a few photos with Daisy and Chip & Dale! After that, we walked around, saw a few animals on the Savanna, and grabbed some lunch.
It was during lunch- chaos ensued- the kids had clearly had enough!! (Yes, our days are not without Disney meltdowns either!) We couldn’t agree on what transportation to take… I know, a ridiculous problem-but in the end- we took a bus back to MK, then a boat back to the campground. Ya’ll, I may or may not have needed to take some much needed decompression time after that last hour!!! Haha
A little while later, I pulled myself together, the kids had some quiet time- sooo, we finally were able to make it out on our first bike ride as a family to the evening campfire to make s’mores! After a full week at the Fort- we actually had an evening that wasn’t raining or we weren’t at a park. (S’mores may or may not of been dinner! Lol To Be fair, we did have a late lunch. Haha)
If you haven’t seen a lot of photos with Ryan in them, that’s not a coincidence, it’s because on this super long- what seems like a vacation- Ryan has actually been working remote from the camper! Yep, I run around with the kids during the day so it’s quiet for him to work, and then we meet up around dinner to have some family time. So far it’s been working out pretty good! It might seem he is missing out on a lot, but I promise you- he’s getting some fun in to!! 😉

Day 14: Wed, June 19-An Epcot Day
You might be wondering- how can one spend so many days at Disney and not get bored/or worn out- well… we’ve learned to do a little here and there and let the kids be the guide. Some of you know we’ve had Annual Passes to Disney since we moved to Fl in 2019- and now even back in KY, we’ve still got them! Does it make it worth it?! Heck YES!! We’ve learned Disney is not just about rides, but about experiences and learning to live in the moment. Annual passes give us the freedom to do that. We can’t ride that today, that’s ok… we’ll do that next time. We challenge ourselves to make small goals of things to see or do- and go with the flow.
This day, the kids were about just playing on the playground behind Creations. We’ve actually been playing here since they were able to walk; so I’ll miss the slowing down of a Disney park day when they’ll be too big to play on the equipment. These are the memories we make at Disney too. Of course it began to rain, but we brought our Disney ponchos. We always have a summer backpack with essential items for Disney days- cooling towels and now neck fans, rain ponchos, a refillable popcorn bucket… these are just a few items in the bag lately. Lol
We did ride a few rides, took ina few shows, and even had some lunch. Then we grabbed a few small souvenirs and headed back. A slow evening at the camper finished off our day, I made dinner, and we all headed to bed early. Even the slow days are worth the memories!

Day 13: Tuesday June 18: Typhoon Lagoon! 🌊
Ya’ll we spent almost 3 full hours at the water park and 2 or more of those hours were just spent in the wave pool!! These kids are swimming junkies now and I’m wore out! If it wasn’t the wave pool they swam the lazy River- I mean… the lazy River was to chill- they didn’t get the memo! Haha 😂
We did do 1 water slide.
Not much else to report for that day- I was tired!! However, we did head to the Springs and had dinner and walked around a bit before bed. The end. Lol

Day 12: Mon, June 17-Passholder Preview:Tiana’s Bayou
Magic Kingdom day, finally got a chance to ride the updated ‘Splash Mountain’ into Tianas Bayou! Same “ole’ splash” but the re theme is cute! I feel the first time you ride something you always expect to see more, so I’m excited we get the chance to ride it one more time before the end of our trip. It officially opens to the public on June 28, a day after we leave Disney.
Love we had the opportunity to do some other not-so-popular rides and attractions this morning while we waited for our number to come up on the virtual que- like Carouselof Progress, Peoplemover, Liberty Belle River boat, Hall of Presidents, Aladdin’s carpets,… even saw those Country Bears walking around. Hopefully soon their theatre will be ready to reopen too!
Of course they had Dole Whips for an early lunch lol, and I had a few bites of what the kids couldn’t finish. We left the park about 2p and took the bus over to Typhoon Lagoon with the kids for a bit of swimming before dinner.
Another easy day, lots of walking,… and swimming!

Day 11: June 16- Father’s Day, Laying Low
The last week and a half we’ve been going non-stop- nothing better than to slow down a bit and just enjoy a day in the pool and around the campground!
My brother Sal and his lovely wife Courtney, their son Gio, all came to the camper in the morning and we got some time to catch up a bit more. It has been a few years that we’ve had a chance to do this, ever since we moved back to Ky the summer of 2022! It was also time to say good bye to my niece Arabella, that had a few days to spend with us at Disney and in the camper! So glad we had this time to reconnect.
After they headed home, we finally made it over to the pool at the campground. The water was warm and the kids are really becoming strong swimmers! It’s always a great feeling when you don’t have little kids in floaties and you don’t have to worry too much about mishaps in the water. These are the days that summers were made for!
We then took a few loops around the Fort in our newly decorated golf cart, and hid a few more scavenger hunt goodies! We’re really taken to doing this each visit at the Fort to give back to all the other great campers who’ve been hiding things for our kiddos over the years too. I love that it gives them just as much enjoyment, as it does in finding. We love to see the updated posts that say somone has ‘found it!’
Had a Trails End pizza for dinner, as the kids were passed out by 7/8p and we missed our dinner reservation. Haha Again, a perfect laying low kinda day.

Day 10: Saturday June 15- Family Get Together
We started out the morning at Animal Kingdom. It turned out to be a great day for Charlotte, as she was finally tall enough to ride Mt Everest! Yay!
On the safari, we saw lots of animals out, dispute how hot it was! Kids got some refreshing ice cream for lunch and then a reprieve from the sun at Its A Bugs Life!
We park hopped back over to Epcot before dinner to meet up with my brother and his family. Thank goodness we made it to dinner at Spice Road in Morocco just as the rain opened up, sitting on the covered patio, you couldn’t even seem beyond the Epcot lake! We did have to move one set of tables as the one closed to the outside became it’s on water experience. The upside to rain is the weather is usually 10-15 degrees cooler once it stops.
Found these funny ‘drink around the world’ tattoos for the guys- they had some challenges, however they almost made it!
All in all- a day full of experiences & memories all around!

Day 9: Friday June 14: Parks and More!
1030am kick off- we went to the Springs to watch the new Inside Out 2 movie, Adorable! Popcorn for breakfast… sure, why not! Lol
1pm head to Epcot- pick up some new Disney gear and ride a few rides
4pm make our way to Hollywood Studios- Love the convenience of the Skyliner from park to park; the older kids rode Tower of Terror- haha better for them!
630pm time to get back to get ready for dinner- found and hide a few scavenger items at the Fort
10pm last park, Magic Kingdom- two more rides and closed down the park!! 12hr park days and park hopping is not for the weak!! 🤩🫠😴

Day 8: Thur, June 13: Fort Wilderness Arrival + Plus One
Happy campers in the back seat… we picked up a Plus One- my niece for the first few days at Disney!!At 13 yrs old she’s between loving amusement parks and too cool for all things cartoon- but I guarantee we’ll capture a full smile before she goes home! 😁.
Thank goodness the road-trip from Tampa to Orlando actually went pretty smooth once we got our camper tire situated. Even had fair weather for set up & any afternoon void Orlando rain is a great day!😉👍🏻
Ryan nailed the parking job into our campsite- perfect alignment first try! Our spot has lots of room to spread out and we could finally bust out all the Disney decor! Nothing like finally arriving to our “Second Home!!” 🫶🏻🏡
We rented a golf cart for the full length of our stay to get around this huge park and it made getting to our dining reservation for some good ole’ Disney food and singing a lot easier! HoopDeeDoo R***e made for a great kick off for our vacation. Lots of food, like always, and the improve throughout the show was silly! I think my niece was slightly embarrassed, but she’s coming around to the magic of Disney!

06/13/2024

Day 6 & 7: A Place (Formally) Called Home-Tarpon Springs FL
…The second half of Day 5, after we watched the Blue Angels fly about, was our longest planned travel day on the road. We drove the 7hrs south from Pensecola down the coast to Tarpon Springs FL. Which of course meant it would probably lead to another late night set up around 1030p, again… after dark! Ugh Boy, I remember why I refused to plan such long travel days on this year’s summer trip- 7hrs always turns into 10 when you stop for gas, food, and potty breaks!
Although we had lots of other ‘fun’ things planned for our Clearwater/Palm Harbor visit- another surprise showed it’s ugly head when I was helping Charlotte brush her teeth on Monday night. It seemed by visual inspection that maybe she was getting a larger cavity coming in on one of her back molar. So the proactive mom in me was like- “hey, I know what I can do- since we’ll be back in our old home town area, maybe her old dentist there can get her in for an evaluation and take care of this problem before it gets worse on the road!”Haha… Well, here’s how all that turned out:
I have to admit- I’m Very greatful we had a dentist who was more than willing to help us out on our Very short and tight timeframe!! They were able to see her first thing on Wednesday morning. And, after a quick set of X-rays- not only did she have a cavity where I had seen it- she also had multiple others!🫣😭 With that, we got a game plan together and they began treatment right away!
When I shared the news with Ryan, he of course was like, “wow, wonder what might be hiding with Gavin too?” Haha.. so sure enough… (as we’re bleeding $$ anyways) why not get Gavin evaluated also! And like that- another appt, X-rays , and there was Gavin in the chair getting some of his cavities fixed too! 😬
Now let me preface with this: I’m usually very good about preventative care- we’ve always had dental insurance and we always booked and did our 6-Month follow ups. (This is actually why I was able to get my kids into this pediatric dentist so soon- this was one of their prior dentist when we lived in Fl.) However, when we moved back to Ky the dentist we had seen for 10+yrs before we moved to Fl had stopped taking our insurance by the time we moved back. Needless to say, finding a new dentist at that point sort of took a back seat for a bit longer than I had planned. Finally, we did book appointments for the kids at our new practice in Ky just a few months back. Yet, the practice necessarily weren’t ‘built’ for children and they couldn’t take X-rays at their last visit. So, cleanings and a visual inspection were all they could really offer. And- both came back with an all clear! Well, seems something’s were NOT all clear after all!
Fast forward… Two days of dental visits for both kiddos, and I’m happy to report, they’re about 80-90% fixed of all dental woes!! I’ll take that as a win!
We did finally also get the chance to squeeze in a nice family dinner with my brother’s family too- so that’s an upside!! And with that- it was just about time to pack up and head out onto our next stop!!

A few other ‘honorable’ mentions over the last 48hrs are:
-We found a dog’s name tag at a rest stop on the way south on Tuesday and I reached out to the owners! They were happy we found it and I happily placed it in an envelope and mailed back to them this morning!! (Funny, it doesn’t have to travel too far either… actually just to where we’re headed- Orlando!)
-Then, as we were setting up to leave our site this afternoon, one more walk around inspection yielded the find of another FLAT TIRE! Kid you not!! We did what we could to use our portable air compressor to go from 20psi to a meager 50psi. We crossed our fingers as we pulled out we could find a tire shop with a more powerful professional compressor that could take us up to our rated 100-110psi!! Well, actually that was not an easy feat at all!! 4+phone calls later, we did yield one tire shop not too far from us who did have the ability to inspect the tire and give us the air we needed. So we carefully headed that way!
There was maybe a small concern that the valve stem might not be good on the new tire, but after inspection- there was a greater chance that it wasn’t the stem, but possibly the valve covers! The BMPro monitors we had been using have been notorious for also allowing small leaks to happen if not seated right; and why it took 3 days and sitting at the campsite for 2 days to have the tire slowly deflate! Needless to say- all is fixed, AGAIN- and we are back on the road- finally… headed to Disney!
…Fort Wilderness we will see ya’ real soon!🤩
🌟Roll with those tides ya’ll!! Learn to pivot!!🌟

Day 5: Monday June 10: Time at The Seashore- Part 2
Gulf Islands National Seashore - Fort Pickens FL
After our visit to the Fort we took a small drive over to the Langdon Beach on the National Seashore! All I can say- Perfect!! Water was warm, the waves just enough, the sand soft, the shells- well, we found some of those too in the water!
The kids swam for about 1.5hrs before it was time to drive the hour back to base and do dinner. I wish we had way more time to enjoy this beautiful beach. I can definitely see the appeal in how many people love to come here! I feel this beach will become a stop in our regular rotation.
I can’t say this enough- get out there and visit somewhere new!! So many wonderful things out there to experience and make memories at! 🫶🏻🏝️

Day 5: Monday June 10: Exploring The Fort-Part 1 of 2
Gulf Islands National Seashore - Fort Pickens FL
Just on the outskirts of Pensecola Beach FL is a small strip of surf and sand, it’s naturally beautiful and pristine - Gulf Islands NS @ Fort Pickens is worth going off the beaten path for! This drive was about an hour from the NAS, but it was great to see and explore more outside of the Pensecola mainland. I was surprised to see how cute Gulf Breeze was, and Pensecola Beach area is a bit quieter than that of Clearwater beach, which is a bit further south down the Gulf. As soon as you drive into the NS you’ve been transplanted back hundreds of years to what a natural gulf seashore should look like- void any touristy stops and vacation properties. The drive to the Fort was several miles of blue waters and snow-white sand! I always love the fact that beaches on the east coast have so much vegetation. Fun fact: Gulf Islands NS actually crosses 3 states (FL-MS) and is 160mi long!
As we finally came upon the Fort you could not miss it! This Fort was easily twice to 4x the size of the Fort we had been at the day before. The Fort was massive and so spread out. Some spots were older and more eroded than others, and I had even found out how one explosion in 1899 took out a full corner of the Fort due to a fire that got into the gunpowder magazine- Crazy! (Now part of the road/parking lot.)
The Fort also had an interesting attachment considered “a fort within a fort”. This Battery held 2 12” cannons in the early 1900’s and could shoot a shell 8-miles off the coast, then be rolled back into hiding behind the wall!
Lots of interesting things to learn here about our history and the forces behind keeping us safe for almost 200yrs, as it was built in 1834.

Manic Monday! Let’s Get Some S**t Fixed!🛞❄️
Well. If you’ve been following along since kick off- you know we’ve had a few things not go as planned! Even with pre-trip inspections by ourselves and rv professionals- since safety and being proactive in keeping things working while you’re on a 2k+ mile road trip over two months is completely necessary- something’s just don’t present themselves… until they do!
Although the RV techs who dewinterized our camper just 10days before our trip swore the fridge and freezer were working fine for them, even got cold enough to make ice- when we got into the camper 24hrs prior to taking the road, the fridge and freezer were just not cooling down properly. We decided the trip will go on- and we loaded it with lots of food from home- and prayed maybe if we give it a few more hours it will kick in and run as it always had every trip until this one. By the end of day one- the temps were definitely cold in the bottom half of the freezer and fridge, but as you went up shelf by shelf so did the temp! We were really beginning to think this was becoming a seriously bad problem- as the now the loaded fridge/freezer was holding $$$ of food, and hour by hour- it was just an overpriced cooler Vs an actual appliance! But we had a schedule to keep, and not having a steady place to stay until we reached Pensecola Fl where we had 3 days to address the issue- we kept trekking on. Each day, realizing we’d most likely end up throwing out 75% of our food by the time we got into town. I tried not to think about it much. What I didn’t know then was the refrigerator was going to be the least of our worries… having no idea we were about to get hit with ONE more High Dollar$ problem- the Tires!
Yep, had that blow out on the road coming into Pensecola! Again, we feel blessed it wasn’t on a freeway- but nonetheless, a damper in our mood, realizing we will need to address the fridge and tires both in Pensacola now!
Fast forward to the first business day in town, Monday, and we woke up and immediately began making phone calls. One call would lead to a dead end, but they would give insight on who we should try and that lead to more calls. Eventually we came across a tire company that could not only provide the tires we needed, they could actually come to us!! Blessing!
We also went back into our purchasing paperwork for our camper and began the task of trying to use all those extended warranties we bought for crap just like this!! Sure- it’s going to be a ‘dance’ to try to get all this stuff reimbursed, but something back is better than not- so hopefully we won’t be regretting spending the extra money for those warranties!
As for the fridge- we called Sears Appliance Repair and they were able to come out to the camper at the campground too to help diagnose what was going on. The tech was able to decipher the problem down to a bad fan motor; yet he couldn’t get in stock before we needed to leave town the next day. However, he was kind enough to show Ryan where it went, that it was easily swappable and even gave him the part number. Thanks to a quick search on Amazon and a few bucks later- the part should be awaiting us when we get to our new site Tuesday!! Pray we get the fridge fixed and this will be the end of our drama!!
The tire tech came out and changed all 5 tires (yes five, 4 and our 1 spare) right at our campsite!! We upgraded weight rating and asked for the best of best since no one needs another potential blow out! I’m thankful for Ryan who stayed back and met both techs to get the camper fixed, as I took the kids away for the afternoon and explored a bit more. (Check my next post for the ‘fun’ part of Monday.) …Now, to just order our replacement fender from the dealer.
All-in-all…. Let the tides be turning in our luck! We have lots more places to see and summer fun to be had!

Day 4- Sunday June 9: Exploration #3 of 3
National Naval Aviation Museum
Closing out our adventures Sunday we stopped into this pretty awesome museum. This was another free to the public experience- and again- it was right on base! The highlight of the museum had to be The Blue Angel’s Jets; especially since NAS Pensecola is ‘Home’ to the Blue Angels. I’d have to say, after doing the National Air Force Muesuem at Wright-Patterson, in Ohio, this museum seemed sort of small in comparison- but nonetheless- still full of some awesome planes and exhibits. What I felt set this museum center apart from the others, is that it had a full-size theater you could watch a variety of movies about certain parts of naval aviation & history, along with several different flight simulators you could ride in; (however we didn’t indulge in either, see my comments below why. Haha) If you’re ever in the area, it would be worth a trip through!
(The kids were about done with walking around all day about 10mins in, so unfortunately we don’t have a lot to report. Lol We went and found some food for dinner next after this and then relaxed in the camper the rest of the night.)

Day 4- Sunday June 9: Exploration #2 of 3
Fort Barrancas- Gulf Islands National Seashore
This Fort was also on NAS Pensacola so super easy to get to after the stop at the lighthouse. It was really starting to warm up by the time we got there and so the kids were already complaining about having to do some walking! Lol Luckily- once we got into the Fort, it was mostly indoors, underground, and we got lots of natural breezes throughout the corridors. I explained being underground and having all the windows ‘open’ provided the first A/C system. 😉
Gavin said that exploring here was the best thing he’s done on our trip so far! Which is crazy- because I felt Mammoth Caves was pretty awesome too. However, since we basically had the fort to ourselves and he could run around a bit- I’m sure that played a factor in his overall rating. Even Charlotte started to have some fun as well- once she stopped complaining about the heat. (And it’s only early June, and not even in central Fl heat… I can only expect more grips about heat in the days and weeks to come- so she’d better begin to acclimate now! Haha)
After our self-guided tour, we stopped into the small visitor center office and picked up our junior ranger workbooks for Gulf Islands NS. The goal today is to go out to the Fort Pickens area and turn it in to get our ranger badges. Another fun fact- we also got to stamp our National Parks “passport” book for the Freedom Trail as well, who knew- Fort Barranacs was also a safe haven for slaves wanting to make it to the north. Instead of trying to go north, which was a obviously a greater distance to travel, some slaves in the south went further south to a few of these safe havens instead. The Parks Ranger mentioned that if they made it to the Fort, they could board a ship and travel up the coast to freedom!
Fort Barrancas never saw action to protect our shores or Navy until the Civil War, when it saw action with the Confederacy. It was part of tri-fort system along with Fort Pickens and Fort McRee. Fort McRee no longer stands as it feel into disrepair and was never built. PS- visiting National Parks or sites?? Download the National Parks App- wish I knew this sooner! You can even download separate guides for each park- that way- if you don’t have signal you can still access all the information!
Get out there- Explore More. Learn More.

Let’s pick up where we left off in the Crazy-Cobb saga from yesterday:
Yep- got that tire changed finally!! 🛞👍🏻
From the start of the chaos until back on the road I think we were down and out for about 2’ish hours.
Pulled into the campground about 6:30p- and got to the ball game ⚾️ in the top of the 6th inning around 7:30p. Ahhh, such is life. We can only control what we can control- and honestly- I’m glad we bought the baseball tickets before the blow out- because it gave us a reason to go out and turn a bad evening into a much better relaxed evening!!😊🎆 If I hadn’t bought the tickets, we probably would of just stayed in and complained about our crap luck.
The Blue Wahoo’s (home team) won against the Mississippi Braves and the stadium was really nice. It had been such a long time since we had seen a baseball game in person. I even got the chance to explain how the game works to Charlotte. Haha yes, we watch baseball but never really got into what all the plays mean- Don’t judge me! Lol 😆
Today- we went out and about on the Naval Air Station Pensacola, which surprisingly had lots to see within a mile of the campground: Naval Air Museum, Pensecola Lighthouse, and even part of the Gulf Islands National Seashore at Fort Barrancas. (We hoped on seeing the Blue Angels fly about, yet they seem to be out of town this week!) Learning to Pivot in our day to day life has become a survival skill to say the least! Stay tuned for a whole separate post of all we saw at these places.
We plan to start our Monday morning calling around to find if we can get all 4 camper tires replaced, before we hit the road on Tuesday morning to further our adventures deeper into Florida. (Oh yeah… and I hadn’t even dropped this bomb yet-) but our refrigerator in the camper hasn’t been working well either- so I get to call an appliance repair guy too!! Yay us!!! Amen, that most of the things we have seen so far haven’t been too expensive or either free, since spending money on repairs will eat up some ‘play’ funds instead. However THIS trip will go on!!!💸💯

06/08/2024

Ok… there’s a blessing and a lesson in this I’m sure!!
Play by Play:
⭐️3:24pm- we’re getting close to our final destination for the day- campground #3 on Day 3 of our grand summer vacation- and getting in before dark, so we went ahead- feeling super optimistic- and decided we’d celebrate and go to baseball game tonight at 6:05p! {Insert} Buying tickets online- bonus- they had 4 Front Row seats= winning! Happy feeling!! 🤩⚾️
Speed forward 20mins-
‼️3:45pm- TOTAL TIRE BLOW OUT!!! 💥🛞
Yep- still 20mi from destination- small side road- making left turn… BAM- super loud pop! Pull over and passenger tire is shredded!!🫣😩🤯
🚔 Decided to call local authorities as we are blocking one lane on a two lane road, (dialed 911 since I had no idea what city we’re technically in) …and as I hit dial a local sheriff rolls by and we wave him to stop, so I hang up! Two seconds later- I get a call back from 911- since I hung up- and told them we had a sheriff stop same time I dialed. They directed me to the local sheriff line anyways… as the officer who stopped was actually off duty and on the way into work. Lol- crazy am I right?!
🐕 oh… did I forget to mention the house across from where we stopped let there two dogs loose?! I’m not super afraid of dogs… but dogs I dont know- yeah we don’t need to be introduced like this. 🫥
🛻 Now we sit and wait for the tow truck to help swap our tire and hope we can make it to the campground safely on the remaining tires! Seems maybe we will be getting all new tires this trip after all. Can’t expect to travel several thousand miles on what seems now to be tires who don’t want to play along.
✅ FOLLOW ALONG… to see what happens next?!⁉️
Do we make it to the baseball game?
Do we get all new tires?
Do we continue to have bad luck?
🙏🏼 Honestly- the biggest blessing is this didn’t happen on the freeway in the middle of no where! For that, we are grateful! We have really been challenged in 2024 as a family, at home, with work, …on the road… I guess it doesn’t matter- we are learning to deal with what life throws at us! Now we just laugh and laugh and throw money to all the damages! I guess some seasons are like that movie “The Money Pit”, we can relate to how Tom Hank’s role feels when he just wanted to take a nice bath, and the whole tub falls through the floor as he fills it!! (Insert crazy crying-laughter here!) 😆😭

Here’s a little view from the cab of the truck! We are taking one of our family pets on the road with us this trip- “Sammy from Miami” the beta fish gets center rear seat between the other two ‘animals’ of my life! 😉🫶🏻🐠 The older boys are at home designated house and dog caretaker this summer! So, this is what life looks like the next 8 weeks.
Here’s a few photos of what the first two campgrounds looked like-
1. KOA Horse Cave, KY- site 86: gravel, pull thru- hard to define boundaries between neighboring spots, but it was wide and fit our need for 1 night …And, it was only 15mins or so from the National Park.
2. Palomino RV Resort, Cullman, AL - site 31: flat, end cap pull thru- loved it was concrete and easy set up; had some problems connecting to Wi-Fi so we watched “ole’ school” dvd movies instead.
Both sites served their purpose and had lots of amenities for those staying several days. KOA was close to the highway so some highway noise. Palomino had some sites even with outdoor fireplaces, easy and off the freeway for those traveling.
We arrived to both locations after nightfall, which is not our preference, after 10pm & 9pm respectively (ya’ll when I say we aren’t about perfect- we mean it!) …but with lots of practice over the years, we set up quick and settled in. Hopefully we will get into the rest of our campsites this trip during daylight so we can enjoy some evening enjoyment before bed.
