Anniversary getaways are lovely. But every now and then I get to design and plan something extraordinary for my clients celebrating a milestone - like an intentional journey to the South of France, where every moment whispers romance, discovery, and ease.

Hotels have been hand-selected to meet the clients specific requests. Private guides will open the doors to storied vineyards and hidden corners of hilltop villages. Reservations have been made at restaurants for meals that will linger long after the last sip of wine.

Luxury, yes—but it’s the pace, the privacy, the space to truly be together that honors their love story.

Do you have a favorite artifact from a trip? This is mine. I purchased him when I traveled to Papua New Guinea in my early twenties. Since then, he has journeyed with me across the globe and now sits in my kitchen, putting a smile on my face every day.

Keepsakes from a trip don’t have to be elaborate or expensive, but they should be meaningful. I bought mine in a vibrant, dusty market from a local artisan who had hand-carved him. The market was full of fruits I’d never seen, dialects I’d never heard, and a lively spirit of bartering that was entirely new to me. I knew I wanted something that would remind me of the extraordinary experiences I was having in this foreign place, and this little figure just spoke to me.

Now, every time I see him, I’m reminded of that journey and the pieces of the world that we can carry with us. He’s more than just a souvenir; he’s a symbol of the adventures that have shaped who I am and of the adventures yet to come!

Incorporating a special interest into a trip can make the experience even more meaningful and memorable.

Given the personal and customized nature of my travel planning services, nearly all the trips I help my clients plan have, in one way or another, some special interest woven into the itinerary.

Here are just a couple of examples:

🧶 While planning a trip to New Zealand and Australia for a couple of avid knitters, I arranged an invitation for them to join a cozy “Knit Night” at a charming yarn shop in an Auckland neighborhood. This gathering gave them the chance to connect with local knitters and explore beautiful hand-dyed yarns unique to the area.

🍽️ A well-traveled, self-proclaimed “foodie” client of mine was eager to explore local restaurants led by ‘up-and-coming’ chefs. Looking beyond Michelin-star lists, I tapped into my local connections and industry contacts to curate a unique list tailored to my client’s specific request.

A milestone wedding anniversary is a wonderful occasion to celebrate with a memorable trip.

Rome’s hauntingly beautiful Capuchin Crypt is a hidden gem beneath the Church of Santa Maria della Concezione dei Cappuccini. This crypt is unlike anything you’ve seen—a series of chapels decorated with the bones of over 4,000 Capuchin friars, arranged in stunning patterns across walls, arches, and ceilings.

A bit morbid? Maybe. But it’s also a moving tribute to life’s impermanence.
