You’ll have 3.5 hours to get to know this romantic UNESCO World Heritage Tuscan city. Visit some extraordinary places like the 13th-century cathedral, Santa Maria del Fiore which is made up of 3 buildings including the Duomo (dome). The Church of Santa Croce is a short distance walk from the Duomo. It’s the principal Franciscan church in Florence and is the burial place of famous Italians like Michelangelo, Galileo, Machiavelli and Rossini. The Uffizi museum is one of the most famous and largest in the world and houses a priceless collection of works of art, mostly from the Italian Renaissance. You can imagine another era as you soak in the atmosphere of this magical city. Browse as you wish. Shop, grab a bite, stroll a museum. Any entrance fees, admissions, food or drink are at your expense. You’ll meet back at the pre-arranged time and place to be driven to the city of Pisa, located about 45 minutes from Florence. Here you’ll have an hour and a half to explore, the bus will be parked at Pietrasantina, a few minutes from the Plaza of Miracles (Piazza dei Miracoli). The Plaza is a walled area surrounding some of the finest architecture in the world including Cathedral of Pisa, the Leaning Tower, and the Monumental Cemetery. This UNESCO World Heritage Site has the Cathedral of Pisa, built in the shape of an Italian cross with an exterior of multicolored marble, mosaic, and a number of bronze objects. A stop would not be complete without a selfie photo with the iconic Tower of Pisa; built as a bell tower but, due to a weak foundation, now leans precariously. The Monumental Cemetery was built in a Gothic style to accommodate the sarcophagi of the illustrious Pisans of the period.
