Why would you need travel insurance for domestic travel you ask? Not every hotel has free cancellation and neither do most vacation rentals or cabins! Have you thought about the below scenarios?
Be sure to read through them and and if you ever need a free quote, please reach out as I work with several insurance companies like Allianz, CSA Generali, Travel Insured & Roam Right! You will not regret the peace of mind that comes with travel insurance!
The following are true scenarios that I have recently discussed with clients:
Scenario 1 - your resort in Florida charges you the entire stay if you cancel 7 days before arriving. With travel insurance, you may be able to receive 100% back, if it is a covered reason, such as a sickness (documentation will need to be provided proving you were unable to travel). You never know when you may wake up on the day of travel with a stomach bug or food poisoning!
Scenario 2 - what if you fail the temperature screen at the airport (depending what airline) or at a Walt Disney theme park? Travel insurance can cover the cost of your trip cancellation/ interruption or may help you cover expenses if you have to extend your trip due to not being able to return because of sickness! You would need documentation from a legally qualified physician proving that you were not able to embark due to a fever or sickness.
Scenario 3 - you have to cancel your trip due to a winter storm or a hurricane! As long as you purchased travel insurance before the winter storm turned into a watch or warning (some plans say at least 24 hrs before) and before the hurricane is named, your trip can be covered.
There are many other scenarios, but hopefully you now have a better understanding of why travel insurance is so important these days!

For those of you not wanting to travel internationally in 2021, one of my suppliers, the Rocky Mountaineer, has just announced their first route in the U.S.! The luxury train ride 🚂 that you recently saw in one of our posts (I’ll add it to the comments below in case you missed it), will now have a route where passengers will get to experience the Colorado Rockies and the desert rock formations 🏞 of Moab. The route starts from Denver to Moab over two days, with one night in Glenwood Springs!
