Among the many people who have made significant contributions to the collection of knowledge of the 1715 Fleet, a standout is Terry (Tyrrell) Armstrong. Terry has worked on the Fleet as a diver, a surveyor and an historian. He has written, co-written, edited, collaborated on and/or published a number of books on the Fleet as well as other aspects of shipwreck salvage archaeology. They are ALL exceptional work. Terry also produced the only mapping/recording software that has ever been made for shipwreck salvage archaeology operators to keep track of conditions, excavations and finds. (DigTrakR, DigLogR and the newest version - DigFindR. You will find here a link to his publishing website, but DO NOT leave without checking out the other tabs, particularly the "VIDEOS" tab. Educational and fascinating explanations of how this stuff works!!
This is an unpaid, unrequested endorsement of a very good friend.

So...I know that these posts can reach a lot of people all over the world so I am going to throw this out there. Spread it around in appropriate places if you can.
If anyone knows either the folks in Philadelphia or in Oskaloosa County that are involved in the project to move the SS United States from Philadelphia to Destin, please let me know. I have been contacted by a highly experienced gentleman who can help them get this project done and is interested in doing so. He has worked with towing and sinking of carriers in the past.
Message me, email me at [email protected] or call me and we'll get this thing towed and on the bottom of the Gulf.
Thanks!

Earlier this year, a judge ruled that the SS United States can't stay docked at Pier 82 in South Philadelphia past Sept. 12.
