The Holidays can be a true adventure for some of us emotionally.

Here are a couple of tips. Trust me, these may come in handy...

1. Use your words, not your defense mechanisms. A little vulnerability goes a long way.

2. Ask for what you need. If you need a hug or a minute or to hear that someone loves you. Ask.

3. When you encounter a loved one who is emotional, ask them what they need to hear. Don't judge them, just tell them.

4. Everyone wants to feel special, important and loved. Take time to tell the special and important people in your life that you feel this way. We never know how long we will have with them.

At the end of the day, there is only love. We feel our best when we give AND receive it. Give yourself the gift of an open heart this season. Make sure to let the love in. ❤️

🚣 San Juan Island - Trip Recap 🚣

We unplugged, saw Seals/Seal Lions/Porpoises, ate amazing meals, adventured rain or shine, hiked a couple islands, climbed in a giant tree, played Uno by light of headlamps and battled a few raccoons.

We pet a deer, made unique art, worked on ourselves, went swimming, kayaked over 30 miles, had Wine Wednesday (and maybe Wine Tuesday too).

We took risks, worked as a team, supported each other, opened up, and we laughed ourselves silly a million times over.






Next up, 10,000 Islands in Southern Florida! January 21-27. Nothing like a little fun in the sun come January!

ALASKA TRIP REVIEW:

Alaska backcountry is not for the faint of heart. It requires vigilance, resilience, patience, determination and grit. If you can pass the tests, the prizes are awe inspiring, breathtaking, vast and majestic.

We camped next to glaciers and waterfalls. We kayaked around icebergs (and even had iceberg margaritas). We saw salmon swimming upstream (and tried to catch them). We watched 18 wheeler sized chunks of ice break off million year old glaciers (we expected a tsunami and got ripples). We paddled hard to escape the cold and the rain. We paddled easy to marvel at giant waterfalls, 6 different glaciers, and bald eagles. We fell asleep listening to streams, waterfalls, and glaciers cracking all night. We ate wild blueberries and salmon berries. We explored dreamy, mossy, fairy forests. We watched sea otters and seals play all around us (one almost jumped on my kayak). And, finally, we laughed and laughed and laughed.

We got tough when it got tough. We supported each other. We worked as a team. We did hard things. We practiced trust, we pushed our limits, we learned about self care, we unplugged, we expanded. We were self reliant and off the grid. It was truly EPIC. We earned every spectacular view we saw. I could not be more proud to have been part of this amazing team. It was truly a once in lifetime experience. Can't wait to go again next year!

I'm opening up a NEW GROUP!

Who wants to join me for a 30 Day Healthy Habit Challenge? Starts on March 4th. (I just can't stand not teaching - lol.)

This isn't about how much weight we can lose in 30 days; it's about establishing the healthy habits that will support our goals for the next 365 days and beyond!
