🍰 Cutting the Cake: A Sweet Tradition or a Wedding Day Dilemma?
Let's face it – the cake-cutting moment is one of the most anticipated (and
photographed) parts of your big day. But did you know there's more to it than just
wielding a knife and hoping for the best?
As your trusty wedding planner, I'm here to serve up some delicious tips to make this moment as sweet as the frosting.
Here's how to slice through the stress and make your cake-cutting a piece of... well, cake:
• Time it right: Plan this moment when your guests are energized, typically after dinner but before dancing gets into full swing.
• Practice makes perfect: Do a quick run-through with your partner beforehand. Trust me, it's harder to cut a cake gracefully than you might think.
• Get a grip: Hold the knife together, with the bride's hand on top – it's tradition and makes for better photos.
• Prepare items ahead: Make sure that the plate, two forks and napkins are on hand along with the knife and cake server

Loved helping this gorgeous couple celebrate their big day. The couple got married on the beautiful grounds at Blue Hills Country Club. Following the ceremony, the couple wanted to celebrate their love of breweries at one of their favorites, Barrel House Z. The reception focused on celebrating with friends and family in a fun and relaxed environment complete with a caricature artist, food truck and Ben & Jerry's ice cream sundae bar.

Remember to start thinking about song selections for your wedding day. You need songs for the ceremony including the procession and recession. Songs for the reception may include formal introductions, first dance, father/daughter dance, mother/son dance, cake cutting, bouquet toss, and last dance.

Don't forget this important step. Create a must have photo list for your photographer. List all the combination of family members and groups of people you want to have photos with. It makes the whole process much more efficient.

Loved helping this couple celebrate their backyard wedding at the groom's parent's house. The day started with an intimate ceremony with all the men representing the groom's Scottish heritage with kilts including their dog Gus. Additional friends and family joined under the tent to celebrate with a big dance party and ice cream truck.
