Last day, back to Magic Kingdom. Today was much different than Monday. Much less crowded, and I purchased GenIe+. (Once I got the hang of it, I really liked it. I have lots of thoughts and opinions about it, so bring me any of your questions.) The first win of the day, was getting a virtual queue for Tron! The second win of the day was avoiding a morning downpour, while in line for Seven Dwarfs. Once it was our turn, the rain had stopped. Third win of the day was getting everyone’s must do checked off the list! Last win of the day was seeing the fireworks. We missed them on Monday, so we were thankful to the second chance.

Hollywood Studios: Early Entry park hours til close. We squeezed in as much fun as possible. We got front row seats at the Indiana Jones stunt show. I was worried, it would be too close to enjoy, but there was a technical difficulty, and Indy was right in front of us, and chatting with the audience. It was a fun disruption. We had a few rain delays in the afternoon, but we magically squeezed in Slinky Dog Dash in between closures for rain. We STILL didn’t get to see Rise of the Resistance, but we aren’t huge Star Wars people. We did see Fantasmic, which is such a great show!

Day 2 at Magic Kingdom! We hopped of the monorail to Chef Mickey’s for a yummy dinner. Thunderstorms were rolling through, so we opted to leave before the fireworks. We were sad to leave, but wanted to stay safe.

Day 4 and final recap: Today was back in Magic Kingdom. Personally, I was sad to be missing Animal Kingdom, but my kids were excited to be back at Magic Kingdom. (I guess we will just have to come back😉😂) Seeing all the Christmas decorations was so fun! It is amazing to see such a quick change over from Fall to Christmas. It happens over night. Since it is a Tuesday, the park hours were 9-6, this was definitely NOT enough time. We didn’t even walk into Adventureland 😢 We saw the Princesses in a cavalcade, and saw Chip and Dale with the Country Bears in Frontierland. We tried a new (to us) restaurant, Tony’s Town Square. It was so yummy, and the Lady and the Tramp decor was so cute.
Overall, it was WONDERFUL trip! Different, but wonderful. Not having fastpasses is a bummer, but not a deal breaker. We liked walking though the standby line. The details Disney puts in to those lines are incredible on some of those rides. It was also nice to not be on a schedule and have to zig zag around the park to get to your scheduled ride. We picked one side of a park and did it section by section.
Another observation I made with this new normal is eating a sit down meal, really takes a chunk out of your day. I LOVE my sit down meals normally! But this trip, it kinda messed up my flow of the day. I could have done without them.
I welcome all questions y’all might have. Ask away!

And just like THAT... It’s Christmas in Magic Kingdom! Day 4 was back in Magic Kingdom. The decorations are beautiful! We enjoyed the rides, and saw some characters from a far. We had delicious food at Friar’s Nook and Tony’s Town Square. It was so cool experience the Fall/Christmas change over in the parks!

Day 3 recap: Hollywood Studios. I am very glad I got to the park as early as I did. The skyliner station wasn’t even open when we walked up to grab our breakfast. It opened soon after, and everything was very orderly, but it was very busy. Getting into Hollywood Studios was very easy. We walked straight to Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railroad and proceeded to get in the line. At 9:40(ish) they came out and told us the ride was having difficulties and didn’t know how long it would take to fix. Some people got out of line, but we stayed. I mean, we would have just gone into another line. So we took our chances and stayed, which paid off b/c we were on the ride at 10:15. The park officially opened at 10am. We were unable to get a boarding pass to Rise of the Resistance at 10 and 2. I was really bummed, b/c I did all the tricks, and it still didn’t work. 🤷🏻‍♀️ We ride EVERY other ride, and had a great day. We had fun walking around Star Wars Land. I took lots of pictures. Lunch at Docking Bay 7 was awesome, and they seat you at a table, which was awesome, and unexpected. I thought I was going to eat on my lap, or have to fight for a table, like a typical quick service meal. At so many places, they are forcing you to Mobile order, which sound harsh, but it is how they can control crowds. It is so easy and convenient. We ate dinner at the Sci-fi Drive in, which was fun, but there were a few parts the girls didn’t like in the movie loop. 🙈 Overall, it was a really fun day, and we packed in a lot. We were there from before opening til closing!

Say 3: Hollywood Studios! We grabbed enormous donuts at the Skyliner station on the way to Hollywood Studios. Breakfast of champions😂 We were inside the park by 9:05, and headed straight for Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railroad. While in line I tried to get into a boarding group for Rise of the Resistance, but failed.😢 But my sadness was soon gone when I got on Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railroad 15 minutes after the park officially opened. It was SO CUTE, and we all loved it. We got on every ride except Rise of the Resistance (I failed at 2pm too). We ate lunch at Docking Bay 7 in StarWars land and it was delicious! We also got blue and green milk (adult beverage version), and were pleasantly surprised but them. Dinner was at the Sci-Fi Drive In Theater. We enjoyed that new experience. It was a very fun day!

Thoughts on day 2 in Epcot:
I broke my cardinal rule. I let my plans start to ruin my day. I had big ideas of how the day was going to go. We would hop on the skyliner. We were going to get ALL the rides in, AND snack around the world. Maybe even get back to the hotel and get to swim. But lines at the skyliner, slowed us down. The kids didn’t want the yummy worldly snacks. The wait times were longer than I expected. It was just kinda a mess. I started to get down that we weren’t going to have the perfect Disney day of checking all the boxes. But we regrouped, made a list of must dos, and checked THOSE boxes. We learned the wait times posted were MUCH longer, than it actually took. We were able to dodge the rain, perfectly with rides and a snack. Our day fell apart when we learned that one of our must dos on the list was not available due to covid. Then the skyliners went down, and we had to figure out how to get to our hotel. It took about an hour to get back to our room. We definitely had a good day, but it was not the day I built in my head. It is just a reminder that you really need to go with the flow. There are so many variables you can’t control. You don’t want to ruin your whole day, just because there are a few hiccups.

Food and Wine festival at Epcot today. 🤤 The food was amazing, and the beverages were tasty. We got on every ride we were hoping to get on, but we skipped a few. The rain came in and rained on the fun. But we definitely crammed in a lot of fun before the skies opened up.

Ok friends, I am going to get real here: I was SO nervous about this trip, ESPECIALLY about today. I have read blogs, read people’s horror stories of terrible lines, and news of all the layoffs really had me worried that the magic was gone from Disney. But I am here to tell you, it is NOT gone! Disney is different, but still magical.
We were in Magic Kingdom, where the park availability closed 2 weeks ago. From what I have heard, Disney is operating at 25% capacity, and for Magic Kingdom, that means 25,000 people. Compared a regular Disney day, it seemed like a low crowd. There are less places for people to hide in, like shops and restaurants. But it didn’t seem congested at all.
The wait times were running similar for a medium crowd level day. 45-60 for popular rides, but we walked on Dumbo and Magic Carpets. We got on 75% of the rides today. The times listed were very accurate. The lines look SO LONG, but they move continuously. The only time we were standing still for a while was when they were cleaning the carts on Haunted Mansion, which I will happily wait for that service. We didn’t mind waiting in the lines, b/c there wasn’t anything else to do. We didn’t have any FOMO, which is a thing for me at Disney. I know there is a fabulous show or parade typically happening, so I don’t want to take the time to wait in a 60 minute line.
Safety was on point! They are serious about mask wearing. They offer hand sanitizer EVERYWHERE.
They had spontaneous cavalcades so we got to see some of our favorite friends. I definitely missed seeing the princesses, and the shows.

We are going to be here for 3 more days. We are going to Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and back to Magic a Kingdom. With all the uncertainty going on, let me know what questions you have. I will answer them honestly, and be on the look out for answers to questions I haven’t even thought of.

Wow!! I am sad for Splash Mountain to close for the change over, but so excited for the new Princess and the Frog theme. I can’t wait to see Disney’s creative genius for this ride.

Today we are thrilled to share that Splash Mountain – at both Disneyland Resort in California and Walt Disney World Resort in Florida – will soon be completely reimagined with a new story inspired by an all-time favorite Walt Disney Animation Studios film, “The Princess and The Frog.” Learn more about what Imagineers have in development: https://bit.ly/2ViFXAg

This made me tear up a bit!😢 This week I’ve had clients dream tips rescheduled. Christmas presents of Disney trips, have been pushed back for months. My heart breaks for these families. But I would be devestated if any of these families got sick as a result of their trip. Be careful friends and stay safe, so Disney can “see ya real soon!” ❤️

Last day: Animal Kingdom! The Kilimanjaro Safari is one of my favorite experiences in Disney World. Love seeing the giraffes and lions. We rode some rides, and filled out bellies with yummy food before we had to catch a plane. We were so sad to leave, but I am inspired to plan a family trip soon.
