Ok friends, I am going to get real here: I was SO nervous about this trip, ESPECIALLY about today. I have read blogs, read people’s horror stories of terrible lines, and news of all the layoffs really had me worried that the magic was gone from Disney. But I am here to tell you, it is NOT gone! Disney is different, but still magical.
We were in Magic Kingdom, where the park availability closed 2 weeks ago. From what I have heard, Disney is operating at 25% capacity, and for Magic Kingdom, that means 25,000 people. Compared a regular Disney day, it seemed like a low crowd. There are less places for people to hide in, like shops and restaurants. But it didn’t seem congested at all.
The wait times were running similar for a medium crowd level day. 45-60 for popular rides, but we walked on Dumbo and Magic Carpets. We got on 75% of the rides today. The times listed were very accurate. The lines look SO LONG, but they move continuously. The only time we were standing still for a while was when they were cleaning the carts on Haunted Mansion, which I will happily wait for that service. We didn’t mind waiting in the lines, b/c there wasn’t anything else to do. We didn’t have any FOMO, which is a thing for me at Disney. I know there is a fabulous show or parade typically happening, so I don’t want to take the time to wait in a 60 minute line.
Safety was on point! They are serious about mask wearing. They offer hand sanitizer EVERYWHERE.
They had spontaneous cavalcades so we got to see some of our favorite friends. I definitely missed seeing the princesses, and the shows.
We are going to be here for 3 more days. We are going to Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and back to Magic a Kingdom. With all the uncertainty going on, let me know what questions you have. I will answer them honestly, and be on the look out for answers to questions I haven’t even thought of.
