Ok i made it to Puebla! The famous city that foreigners apparently nobody knows about 😅.
This place has a vibe for real and after being in smaller towns for a while it was nice to come to a bigger city. Here i found SOOOOO many churches, museums and parks and a lot of cool information about the ancient civilizations of the area and their practices. Including defirming the skull by stretching it as babies, inscribing the skull after death for the afterlife and also inscribing these giant conch shells 🐚!
The art in the churches was also next level even with sculptures of angels and whatnot going around the organ 😮
Well some cool stuff happened at night too but i’ll leave that for the next post!

Today was a lazy day and i chilled out for the whole morning before going to this ‘ex-hacienda’ which was pretty cool. Bummer the electricity wasnt working when i went 😕
It was still beautiful though. Later on i headed to a different city for a day but more on that next time

Ok Guanajuato, the place where everything works haha. Its a very interesting place with a lot of things to see and do including beautiful churches, relaxing at the park with some amriachi and enjoying cheap baked goods and strawberry ice cream. I also walked through the tunnels running through the entire city and visited the museum of Don Quixote which was pretty interesting. Theres still more things to see and do but lets start off slow for this multi day adventure 🙌

Ok so i made my way to Queretaro the other lesser known wine region of Mexico where i visited a museum which was interesting plus a smaller town in the middle of all the wineries and i had myself a wine and chill day. Not like in tequila hahahha or even ensenada! It was chill and i checked out some art as well and remembered that Chile has some famous wine regions too (idk how i forgot) but i had my first Chilean wine i ever liked there also. Overall a good couple of days. After the wine 🍷 haha 🤣
Onto Guanajuato! The capital of the region 📍

Well, do to unforseen circumstances i had to end my tour of san miguel as quickly as id started! Too bad! But now im in Leon with a great host and while there isnt tooooo much to do here, its still a nice break with a good host family. I visited some museums and many churches here while enjoying a few too many liters of pulque 😅

Ok ok. Heres me at the beach haha 😆
Some good tunes i heard along the way with my host, the INCREDIBLE and totally unfiltered sunset that i missed die to work 😭 😭😭😭
The ‘first class’ bus that i took overnight to get to San Miguel de Allende and the view i caught in the morning. Finally i forgot post my sweat pic in the last post so for all you body fluid junkies, here you go, last pic 😅😆.
Next up San Miguel!

Ok on this day i made it to the historic university area and found this amazing church next to the art gallery! The name is just too much to write but its the biggest one in Guadalajara and the inside was absolutely INCREDIBLE ! Inside there was unbelievable stained glass windows that were invisible from the outside. In addition the vaulted ceilings and total silence inside was just wow 🤩!
Afterwards i went into the art gallery which was ok but you know…modern art 😜
Anyway inside i noticed something familiar…a wild KOREAN! 🇰🇷
If it wasnt his look and demeanor, when he asked ‘excuse me!’ To the security person i knew, and went over and confirmed. Afterwards it was a fun conversation about korea and mexico and it was entertaining to shock him with my knowledge of his home 😅 afterwards we got a coffee and chatted a bit before i headed to my new hosts workplce to meet him which happened to be a luxury sports and fitness club! (Fully equipped with sauna, whirlpool bath, swimming pools and more which i utilized to the fullest 😉).
I hung out here and relaxed for a while before getting to my many classes poolside haha or at least nearby 😅.
Until night when we got some pozole and headed to bed!
The next day is my last in Guadalajara!

So not too many photos for this one but in the evening i went with my host to an art walk which is basically a bunch of very fancy paintings outside and people drink beer and stuff while looking at it. Apparently its THE event of San Jose del Cabo 😅.
Anyway after saying bye to one host, i said hello to another! After waiting forever for the bus (that never came) in front of the tamales guy i ordered a didi (uber) and whisked over to dr Iris’s home! But not before chatting up the tamales 🫔 guy and having some horchata and Spanish practice 🤪. So Iris and hwr husband were super nice and fed me like there was no tomorrow and in addition they had the sweetest giant ball of energy puppy dog ive seen in a long time ‘fresa’ (strawberry 🍓). We played and had lots of conversations about travel and health ect and we managed to get out to a very nice beach to look at the stars at night before going back for showers and sleep. FINALLY the next morning they took me to the bus station and after 3 American movies in Spanish and 4 hours of cactuses 🌵 later, i made it to La Paz ✌️ (the peace). More on that next time!

Ok what a time to be in Ensenada! My beginnings here were (as you know) a bit frustrating but it quickly turned as i met my homestay host family who are so kind and helped me so much. Every night after work we’d speak and they’d make me some dinner (gratis 😉) and they introduced me to many things in Ensenada as well. They even took me to their church (like a rock concert with jesus in the lyrics 😅) and they took me for sheep bbq where i also tried chia lime and cucumber water (very tasty) and i also had the juice of the meat in a small cup where you actually put in cilantro onions and squeezed like inside even sometimes with chunks of meat! It sounds funky but it was so incredible! Afterwards we hit up the famous winery downtown and shared a bottle together all while driving me around. We helped eachother with the languages and now im even to help strangers asking for help 😜 IN SPANISH)! Anyway
Backtracking, the other day i bussed up to the Valley of Guadalupe which is like the wine valley of mexico (which unfortunately took forever) but when i arrived after some walmart style wine drinking at the first place i found not one but 2 incredible wineries where the staff and owners met with me and gave me sooooo much wine and mezcal i was falling asleep on the busride home haha! I also learned some things which i wasnt expecting. The one owner even gave me a hat because i wasnt on a tour and walked around (it was basically a sunny desert out there 🌵 ☀️). After trying 13 wines and 2 mezcals i stumbled back into the bus, probably amused some locals and made it home for some work online. FINALLY…there is such interesting advertising and art around Mexico. Its like its own art form. Loving it here! Will tell you about the great beach here next time !
