I posted this yesterday but got the date wrong and had to delete the post, go back into canva fix it, re-download the file to the computer, air drop from my computer to my phone, which brings us back to here! 🙄

The mystery of the Baja cave paintings remains captivating. When the Spanish priest asked the natives about the ancient artwork, they simply said, “they were here when we got here.” With carbon dating placing the paintings at around 7,500 years old, we’re left with more questions than answers. Who created them, where did they go, and why they left these enigmatic marks might remain forever unknown. Some mysteries, it seems, are destined to stay unsolved.

If you could drive through a history book this is what it would feel like! The best part is half of the history of Baja is shrouded in mystery leaving plenty of wide open space for the imagination 😉

We have started using .ish tents in base camp for our kitchen and bathrooms and working with to help us keep everything strapped down. Gear like this is really helping us push the envelope on the level of food and amenities we can provide in extreme Baja conditions. I don’t think we have seen how far we can take this but we want to. 😉 Definitely doing dinner on a desert island this year!

This is the last week to get a spot on this amazing adventure through the Central Coast of California. This is a wine/food lovers road trip with Legends Overlanding and the Revel Club. We will be staying on private ranches and will have a local winemaker every night as a guest for dinner, pairing their wines with our amazing chef!

Look guys, it’s not all fun and games. We take these trips very seriously. I have yet to meet a man of any age that won’t do this if given a dry lake bed as a canvas. Its a real phenomenon in the desert.

That picture was taken 2 weeks ago. Feels like a year ago. We have done two trips and over 2k since then. Cleaning gear and changing the oil on the truck prepping for another trip this Monday! We have July and August open, who’s ready for a summer trip to the west coast of Baja!?

We didn’t really plan it this way but it seems on every trip our customers gain a new level of confidence in their driving skills and their rigs in an environment absent of the big egos and the broken car parts.
It’s also nice going in small groups because we always have someone to pull us out if we pick the wrong line.

This adventure through the Central Coast of California will be amazing with it’s spectacular landscapes, but we are actually more excited to introduce you to the people. The ranchers, winemakers, fishermen and oyster farmers that are intricately connected to this place. We are excited to have several of them joining us in camp to share a meal and their story with us. Ever had dinner at a Spanish mission established over 250 years ago? We really love serving dinner in the most unique and remote places we can find in Baja. Lucky for us, Baja has a few of those!

Since we are usually moving mid-day Alex (our private chef) and his team preps our lunch in the morning and hands them out to everyone before we leave or when we stop for a break wherever lunch time finds us in our adventure. My personal favorite: Asian style smoked pork sandwich with homemade pita bread and hummus. Oh and the oatmeal meal cookie! 🍪
P.S. Alex wears that shirt like its his uniform!

For the record, you are NOT supposed to get that close to whale sharks in Baja unless on a guided tour with a LOCAL guide. @vanes.sea, who is the leader of the Whale Shark Research and Conservation Group in Baja California, was nice enough to let us know after she saw the footage. It won’t happen again, Vanessa. 😬 With a local guide, you ARE allowed to swim next to them off of a licensed boat as long as you don’t touch them. @goalzero sent me a silly contract I wouldn’t sign so we never did a project with them but the fact is the goal zero yeti has helped a lot over the years in remote parts of Baja and you got to give credit where credit is due 🤷🏻♂️ seemed like a good video to bring out of the closet for the opening of the Whale Shark season in Bahia de Los Angeles.
