Was everything the guide said 100% accurate? Not exactly. But the storytelling? Absolutely legendary!

Not sure what horrible crimes against humanity this truck committed in its past life to deserve the punishment it endured, but justice has been served—four years and 100k miles of Baja as a guide truck. Balance has been restored, and now it’s time to give the Ford Craptor a well-earned facelift.

This beast will be the main magic carpet for the OnX Rugged Adventure in Baja this summer, so we’re teaming up with some key partners to send her off in style.

Southern Migration: Day 10

The adventure has come to an end. I’ve had a few bad ideas (ask the customs) but, ending the trip at was not one of them. After nine days in the wild, it was the perfect place to transition back to modern life. Grateful for this incredible group of new friends, the team that made it all happen, and, of course, for capturing every moment. Until next time!

Day 9 was yesterday, but we were too busy treating ourselves at to bother with Instagram.

This was our most ambitious Revel-powered adventure yet—1,500 miles in the books, with 340 of those on teeth-rattling washboards. We crossed the peninsula twice, from sea to sea, chasing flavors and moments only Baja can offer.

We sampled dates in San Ignacio, white sea bass in Gonzaga, white figs in Vizcaíno, fresh-squeezed citrus in our margaritas in Comondú, local goat cheese, and mangos from a 300-year-old tree planted by Jesuit priests. We kissed whales, listened to coyotes sing, stared into the fire, and overshared—because that’s what campfires are for.

Once again, Baja did most of the heavy lifting, despite what my body says.

Day 8 of the Southern Migration (now Northern) brought us within reach of , where real beds, indoor bathrooms, and jacuzzis will await tomorrow—along with our final dinner together. With the finish line in sight, we still found time to stir up a little trouble and have fun doing it.

Getting into camp came with a final test—a deep, loose gravel beach that served as our gatekeeper. Everyone picked up a little more sand-driving experience, and I got behind the wheel of the new all-wheel-drive Mercedes. It worked! I still think they’re too tall, underpowered, and packed with too many computers to be a reliable off-road rig. But, if it gets you to a quiet, empty beach in Baja who am I to argue? I mean that’s the point right?

Day 6 of the Southern Migration nailed it, capturing a full day in motion! We knocked out another 120 miles off-road, bringing this trip’s total to 340. That’s a lot anywhere, but in Baja, it’s next level. 😳

Tomorrow, we reach the climax of this pilgrimage—our long-awaited rendezvous with the whales!

Day 5 of the Southern Migration has gotten us to our southern most point. We did over 100 miles off-road across miles of washboards and salt flats but the payoff at the end of the day was another diamond in the desert!

Day 4 of the Southern Migration. You want everything to go as planned? Go on a cruise. Want some excitement in your life? Come to Baja! We had a flat tire, a 2 mile hike(some customers alleging it was closer to 6), two small stampede of cattle through camp, two staff bathing in the muddy river (not pictured here),and we are pretty sure two toads in the river are getting it on. Beat that Carnival Cruise!

Like frequent flyer miles, Nathan’s method of measuring time seemed a bit off. Luckily, the kitchen crew kept them distracted, and all was forgiven. Day 2 of our Southern Migration brought the best weather Baja has to offer. Maybe the whales are onto something... it’s nice down here!

Just you, your rig, and Baja!

All that scouting pays off when you have spots like this all to yourself, day in and day out.

We’re gearing up for the first of our two Southern Migration trips to see the gray whales. There are still three spots left for March, so if you don’t want to miss out, head to the website and grab yours.

And while we’re at it—who’s ready for summer? The fastest way to make it happen is by heading south. That’s exactly the plan for our Sea of Cortez Adventure this April. If you’re over the cold like I am, this might be the move.

Then there’s May… If you love breaking your truck, stacking rocks, and getting lost in the desert, this one’s for you. I have no idea why people pay for this, but hey—I somehow made it my job! 😅
