It was an honor to be part of the journey, scouting the rugged path and nourishing the crew on their Baja adventure just weeks ago. These guys are the embodiment of grit and passion, embracing the true spirit of Baja with every twist and turn. Broken bike frames, fractured ribs, collarbones, and dislocated shoulders couldn’t dampen their thirst for the raw beauty of the experience.

It took a lot of friends to pull this all together from helping with the camera, .sea and hauling gear up mountains, my buddies out in North Carolina coming up with the score Local guides like and his familyfor hosting us at for hosting it on his page. 6 days 5 nights and our cups are full again. Baja’s rugged nature never disappoints. I’m going to list some of the highlights.

• The Mexican old fashions by were the best we have ever served hands down. (They’re not paying us!)
• Friendly coyote wanted to climb in Cody’s truck, (we didn’t feed it) also saw them swimming in the ocean 😳
• We saw a bald flying unicorn with a 9 foot wingspan and white patches under it’s wings!
• We almost landed a dorado after mistaking it for a small avatar swimming under the boat.
•We swam out to an island speared some trigger fish then handed them over to the very capable hands of .semolina our chef this trip. 🐠
• speared a bigger leopard grouper than me…….again. Not that cool, but my pride was healed by our chef when she cooked it up. Hands down the best sea food plate I’ve ever had anywhere!
• We drove 1,100 miles
• We all got stung by jellyfish…..at about the same time!🪼
•We had two coyotes swim on the beach in front of camp!
• We broke another
•We saw the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez at the same time!
• We saw a shooting star before it was dark.

For the record, you are NOT supposed to get that close to whale sharks in Baja unless on a guided tour with a LOCAL guide. @vanes.sea, who is the leader of the Whale Shark Research and Conservation Group in Baja California, was nice enough to let us know after she saw the footage. It won’t happen again, Vanessa. 😬 With a local guide, you ARE allowed to swim next to them off of a licensed boat as long as you don’t touch them.
