These are the AVERAGE nightly rates for some of the most popular beach destinations.
I’ve been wanting to post this for a while but I never had the time to make a chart until now.
I see and hear people saying how expensive the beach is all the time. (It’s seriously ridiculous and I am one of the ones who complain about it.)
I have made a chart of some of the popular beach destinations in Alabama and Florida. They are listed from lowest to highest. Clear Water being the lowest and Destin being the highest.

To get these prices I chose a random weekend in June. A Thursday-Sunday getaway. I filtered it by a 2 bedroom condo and ocean view. (Ocean view is NOT directly on the beach. You can just see the ocean from at least one angle in or outside the room.)
I used the same dates and filters for each destination.

Just take a look at the difference in Clearwater and Destin. That’s a big difference.

I do realize that some of these destinations may be a little further away from you than you’d like. In that case you take into account if it’s worth saving the money on rooms. Ask yourself “Would I spend the extra money in gas?”, “Is it worth the hassle of kids fussing longer?”, “Should we try something new or something familiar?”, “What beach is prettier?”, “What events are going on in this city?”, etc. etc.
