Fun travel trivia for fellow 🤓

The longest commercial flight in history was in 1943, clocking 32 hours and 9 minutes in the air. ✈️ ⏲️

Operated by Qantas, the route provided a link between Australia and England during WWII.

Flying between Ceylon (today's Sri Lanka) and Australia, the crew navigated through Japanese-occupied territory and had to time their flyovers at night.

The service became known as "The Double Sunrise" 🌅 🌅 as passengers and crew witnessed the sun come up TWICE during their flight.

As if that wasn't crazy enough, the crew did not have radio navigation. The pilots relied solely on the stars 🌠 and compasses 🧭 to get from A to B.

32 hours. 9 minutes. 🤯
