I am an organizer by nature. So it is no surprise that I keep lists in my phone of places I want to see, places I want to eat and adventures I want to make happen. For sometime now, I have wanted to try Hold My Knots. Someone shared their post quite awhile ago and today we were able to make it happen. We grabbed 4 of their garlic knot sliders; chicken parm, eggplant parm and meatball parm. I wish they were closer to where we live😭. They were amazing and a must try!!

During our adventures today heading home we stumbled across the adorable town of Beacon, New York. I initially headed there because I wanted a donut. Glazed Over Donuts was much more than your typical donut. I was only going to get a few but overwhelmed by the choices we decided to get a dozen of their most popular combos. The owner was extremely helpful with the donuts and guided us to some charming sites in the town. It is a must stop if your in the area!! A great town for shopping, food, hiking and beautiful sites.

My soul is meant for travel, to explore and to grow. This weekend was a spontaneous overnight getaway. I love getting in the car and not knowing the destination. It’s full of spontaneous surprises😍 We stumbled into Greenwich, CT, Stamford, CT, Bridgeport, CT & Fishkill, NY. Enjoyed Roger Sherman Baldwin Park, Sloop Brewing Co., Mr. Crab Seafood & Bar, Black Rock Harbor Light & Third Place Half Full Brewery.

Last Saturday my daughter and I jumped in the car and headed out for an Adventure. We had no set destination other than going hiking. Next thing we knew we were exiting New Jersey and heading into Pennsylvania. Our hiking destination was Hickory Run State Park. There are so many trails to choose from🤔. We found a very helpful app for hiking trails called All Trails. It details distance, length to hike, sites and activities and level of hike. I highly recommend the App. For this Adventure we chose to hike Boulder Field and Hawk Falls Trail. After a day of driving and hiking, we were fortunate to be able to enjoy outside dining for the first time in 3 months. Slopeside Pub & Grill has been on my Adventure list for sometime and I was able to finally check it off my list. I must say it won’t be the last time either. The black bean burger and Sante Fe salad were both amazing, as was the staff and the views of Blue Mountain were breath taking.

Every day seems to be an Adventure these days. We are living in unprecedented times and forms of entertainment and adventures demand creativity. A HUGE shout out to Dalton Farms for brightening our day with the tulip festival during quarantine/social distancing. I hope and pray by September we can enjoy the sunflower festival without social distancing🙏🏻

Yesterday I was supposed to begin my Adventures traveling to Gatlinburg, Knoxville & Chattanooga, Tennessee. However, we are in the days of Coronavirus & Quarantine.....so the Adventures gets postponed & temporarily reinvented! Now it’s walks, much needed home projects and best of all family time! Today we had to run up to my sons apartment at Rutgers to grab some things. So in true family style, we all piled into the car and made it an Adventure. On the way home we stopped and grabbed take out in Toms River, supporting a local business Burger 25. The burgers were amazing even eating them in a parking lot. Only 2 survived long enough to take pictures....The Irishman & MacDaddy. These burgers were fresh, unique, fun and delicious and best of all with my favorite people....my family💕

The Rules 2 Adventure seem to be very different during this pandemic. In 2 weeks my latest adventures was taking us to Tennessee. Given the current situation, we are taking it one day at a time and plan to evaluate the trip as the time draws closer. As I have always stated, Adventures don’t have to cost a lot of money, take you to a different state or by plane. It’s all about being creative during these times while most of all being KIND! Your Adventure could be a hike with your family, helping out a neighbor, watching all the virtual tours of museums, zoos, etc. The possibilities can be endless!! It’s time to get creative!! If your looking for family fun, a throw back to that time when you were a kid and amusement parks didn’t cost a fortune then Knoebels Amusement Resort is the place to go!! We have been several times with a large group of friends. The park is attached to a campground that has tent and camper sites as well as cabin options. The park reminds me of an amusement park meets a water park meets a World’s Fair. Imagine a park that doesn’t cost you to enter nor does it costs you to park. The rides, food and games are inexpensive. If a waffle ice cream sandwich is any indication,....fun is definitely the only thing on the menu!! Knoebels Amusement Resort is located Elysburg, PA. While visiting Knoebels, make sure you venture to Graffiti Highway which is only a 22 minute drive located in Centralia, PA. An abandoned stretch of Highway and town due to a fire that has been burning for 50 years. Lots of exploring and bring your graffiti supplies to leave your own mark and addition to the highway!

Milestones are meant to be celebrated and what better way to celebrate our first borns 21st birthday than with a brewery off the beaten path at ManaFirkin Brewing Company. Don’t be fooled by the pole barn exterior because the interior is very welcoming just like the beers🍺. Of course what goes better with beer than pizza🍕? Have you ever passed some place a million times but never tried it? Well we finally stop making that mistake and we tried Roman's Pizza House Absecon. We tried the Buffalo Chicken Stromboli which isn’t your typical Stromboli but reminiscent of a braid type Stromboli. We also got the Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza which was my favorite. I am a huge fan of square pizza and this didn’t disappoint. So much that I never even took a picture of it🤦🏼‍♀️. Guess we will have to go back because I have my eye on Grandmom’s Pizza👀next!! Happy Birthday Owen & thank you for all the Adventures you have brought us❤️

My 3 RRR’s for adventures: Research, Read and
Relax so you can enjoy!! This is how I plan for any adventure! I prefer having a potential plan and checklist of Items vs a full blown schedule and inflexible itinerary. Pinterest, Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, LocalFlavor.com, Groupon, LivingSocial, Hotel.com are some of my research and money saving tools. Sometimes it’s this research that leads me to my destination and sometimes the destination leads me to research. I try and make my wish list at any destination obtainable but also shooting for the stars as well. My theory is if I don’t get to do it this time, darn then I’ll just have to go back😂. It’s been my experience that if I create a vision board, I am more likely to fulfill my Adventure and it also makes my time at any destination more relaxing vs scrambling. It’s also fun to check the calendar of events at any destination. Build upon a concert, festival, art show, etc.

Who likes Waffles?? If you would like to adventure into a unique world of waffles, you have to try the Funky Cow in Hammonton, NJ!! I have been there numerous times and we always do splits with a savory sandwich and a sweet sandwich or dessert. The PB&J Explosion & Pulled Pork are one of my favs!! Who says you can’t have the best of both worlds😍 Hammonton is a great town filled with great eateries, wineries, breweries and festivals!

Adventures are about making memories that can last a lifetime. Mother/daughter time is precious to me! My daughter Ashlynn and I decided to find our inner artist as we ventured to Grounds For Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ. I am not your typical art museum person but this place had something for everyone to enjoy. Exhibits were inside and outside. So to enjoy the full experience, choose a weather friendly day to maximize your adventure!! Afterwards we headed to Hoagie Haven in Princeton. We split the PHAT LADY which is a Cheesesteak, Mozzarella Sticks, Fries, Ketchup, and Hot Sauce. What a yummy ending to a fun day💕. After seeing how cute Princeton was, I know we will be back for more adventures!!

Everyone and every place has a story. Do you ever feel like the hamster wheel of life keeps us so busy that we don’t look for the stories? Yesterday We decided to take a ride for a bite to eat. I keep a list on my phone of places that we would like to try. Prior to going to Donkey's Place Too, I did my research and came across a video of Anthony Bourdain visiting the original Donkey Place in Camden and the story behind it. Unfortunately they are only open Monday-Friday so we headed to their sister location and we weren’t disappointed. A Jersey version of the Philly Cheesesteak. Sometimes a place is more than just a place but rather the heart or dream of one individual. It’s the fruits of those dreams that we can be blessed. One of the great parts of adventuring is that you can combine your passion with adventure! I am a total foodie that loves the Food Network and celebrity chefs. Living near Atlantic City, I am blessed to be able to experience the Food & Wine festivals and celebrity chefs. These are pictures of a past Food and Wine festival kick off party that was held at Harrah’s Hotel Casino. A great adventure with great friends and meeting Rocco DiSpirito was definitely a huge highlight!! Know your passion and make it an adventure💯

Thirsty Thursday🍺 I don’t personally drink beer but I love the atmosphere and socialization of breweries. My husband is a stout and porter enthusiast so in a sea of breweries filled with IPAs, we enjoy the challenge of finding his favorites. On a trip to Lancaster in December, we found a deal on Groupon for Spring House Brewing Co. The deal included a flight, appetizer and glass. It is an antique warehouse located in historic Lancaster.

Does anyone else ever find this “adulting” concept interferes with adventures😫? This past weekend we couldn’t hit the open road very far but we were able to cross a few foodie adventures in taste buds off our list. Saturday we ventured to Water Dog Smoke House in Ventnor. I haven’t had something that tasty and unique in quite awhile. My husband and I like to split so we can taste more things. We shared The Betty; seared local Day-Boat scallops dressed lightly with our tarragon aioli and Pastrami burnt ends with onion and barbecue sauce. We also brought home candied salmon jerky. This place left me savoring it for hours and looking forward to our next visit!! Then we followed up with dessert at Mannino's Cannoli Express. The Tiramisu and a peanut butter chocolate chip cannolis were amazing. Of course a carrot cake might have also hitch hiked it’s way home with us too😂. There is nothing better than enjoying and supporting the local mom and pop establishments!

Each person has something that they like to travel to see, their passion! For some it’s beaches, for some it skiing and I even have a cousin who loves baseball so much that she’s been to every stadium in the country to watch a professional baseball game. One thing I love is waterfalls. I find them to be peaceful and a reminder of God’s beauty! When ever I go on a road trip, I always like/try to google waterfalls. In December while on a trip to Pennsylvania, I adventured to the waterfalls at Falling Branch in Maryland. This would be considered a beginners hike to

Everyone has those things that they love. Anyone that knows me knows that 2 things I love are Christmas & the Hallmark Channel. This past year I learned that the first Christmas Con featuring the Hallmark stars was being held in Edison, NJ. I tried to get tickets but they sold out quickly! So I did some research and realized that if you can’t get tickets what’s a girl to do.....volunteer? It was a fun experience and adventure that I was blessed to share with my daughter, my cousin and my best friend. We got to see stars such as Lacey Chabert, Chad Michael Murray, Jack Wagner, Holly Robinson, Jonathan Bennet, Paul Greene and we were able to meet other fellow Hallmark enthusiasts. Turn the things you love into an adventure with the ones you love💕 and think outside the box!!

The Rachel Ray Show, The Chew and Live with Kelly and Ryan (When Michael was hosting) are all shows in New York City that I have been fortunate to adventure to with one of my besties Julie. The tickets are free and it gives you a great opportunity to see how the shows are taped, you get free giveaways and you get to see celebrities. We were able to see Denzel Washington, Sophia Vergara, Kelly Pickler, Rachel Ray, Kelly Ripa, Michael Strahan, Mario Batali, Michael Symon, etc. During the taping of The Chew, Mario Batali said you have to try Little Eataly while your in New York. So of course we ventured there. It’s the famed Italian market, offering counter service, restaurants & cooking demos. During our adventures, we also explored Central Park & Time Square. Tickets can be requested by visiting their sites: www.rachaelrayshow.com and www.1iota.com (1iota site is used for several shows like The Chew & Live with Kelly & Ryan). Remember being punctual and even early to these shows is the only way to guarantee entrance even with tickets. If your late, they will give the tickets away. What better way to makes memories than to share an adventure with a friend💕

Wine & Ale Trail Wednesday🍷🍺 This time of the year in New Jersey the weather is cold, gray and sometimes snow covered. It becomes more of a challenge to find fun things to do. Groupon and LivingSocial has been one of my tools in finding new adventures. Just recently I purchased a Wine & Ale Trail for my husband for his birthday. The cost was $24.65 and your given a passport at your first stop to fill (5 stops) from a list of wineries and breweries. At the wineries you enjoy a tasting and at the breweries you get a flight. Wineries and breweries are some of the best social environments and we have meant some of the most friendliest people. Our picks were Sharrott Winery, 13th Child Brewery, Vinyl Brewing, Three 3's Brewing & Plagido's Winery

As a foodie, a wish list wouldn’t have been complete without giving you highlights of us entertaining our taste buds. Eating in New York can be pricey but we found some cools spots that were inexpensive. The Fried Dumpling in Chinatown has a menu consisting of only a few items. We went for the fried dumplings which were 6 for $1.50 and my daughter was in heaven. From there we headed to Little Italy where we enjoyed pizza at Manero’s Pizza Of Mulberry St at only $3 a slice, credit card only/no cash. If you were a fan of Saturday Night Fever, you will remember John Travolta played the main character Tony Manero in which this pizza spot was named after. Finally we indulged in dessert at the famous Ferrara Bakery & Cafe. Additional highlights were the Sea Glass Carousel in Battery Park.

For me, every great adventure begins with a focal point. This past weekend was inspired by my daughter Ashlynn. She wanted to go to the 911 Memorial and Museum in New York. From there we built a wish list of places to see and eat. The list are normally lengthy as I usually have bigger aspirations then time allows. However, the good news is if you didn’t complete the wish list then you get to go back for more adventuring!! The 911 Memorial & Museum was very emotional! I limited the pictures I posted so if you decide to go, it didn’t ruin your potential visit. The museum is extensive so when planning I would allocate a minimum of 2 hours but you can easily spend more time as the exhibits are endless.
