My name is Katie Daly and I am the founder and owner of Katie Daly’s Ireland.
Thank you for visiting my website and I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself……
I was born in the small but historic town of Kells in County Meath in the heart of Ireland’s Ancient East. This was of course before it was the known as Ireland’s Ancient East and it was simply just home to me.
I grew up in the countryside quite literally surrounded by fields so the green fields of Ireland are very much in my blood. I am one of 4 siblings & grew up surrounded by loving hardworking parents, a very large extended family, lots of animals and much love……
I moved to New York City in 1994 full of all young Irish immigrants hopes and dreams, determined to take Manhattan by storm. Homesick at first, I missed Ireland and my family but soon fell in love with the hustle and bustle of New York City.
I returned to Ireland to go back to school and in 2001 was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Tourism Marketing. I came back to New York for a quick visit, but cupid struck and that quick visit turned into 20 years and counting. I met my husband Liam a native of County Cavan and we live in Queens, with our little rescue dog Martha.
Having worked hard my whole life, it has always been my dream to have my own business and in October that dream became my reality.
Today when I am not working, I enjoy a very simple life, I love the outdoors, walks on the beach and good food. The values instilled in me as a child are still at my core and family means everything to me……..I return to Ireland as often as I can during the year, some things change of course and some things thankfully remain the same…..
I am excited to share with you my passion, my vision, my dream…….My Ireland.
