For this week’s vacation package quote, we’re highlighting Disney’s Pop Century resort (which is one of the most popular value resorts at Disney!). For this package, we are quoting a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children between 3-9 years old). They would like to stay for 7 nights and have 5 days of park tickets in May 2024. Applying the current discounts available, their vacation package quote would come to a total of $3,973 (prices and availability subject to change). Let’s talk pros and cons of this package. Pros = Staying at a Disney value resort will provide you with a magical stay at a more reasonable price. In addition, Pop Century has access to the Disney Skyliner transportation system, which provides access to both Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot (as well as Disney’s Caribbean Beach and Riviera resorts). The theming at Pop Century is larger-than-life and immerses you in the timeless 1950-1990’s decor. Cons = A Disney value resort room will be smaller than the rooms at Moderate and Deluxe resorts (although it should be comfortable for a family of 4). Value resorts have the highest number of rooms available, so the amentities throughout the resort will get busy during peak times (like the pools, transportation, shops). Finally, the dining options at Pop Century are limited and there is no sit-down restaurants available within the resort. What do you think about this quote? Would you get booking, or keep looking?

The next Disney World restaurant I'd like to feature is Topolino's Terrace at the Riviera Resort. Topolino's offers two very different experiences based on the time of day you visit: character dining during breakfast & a more intimate, quiet dining experience during dinner. We've had the opportunity to experience both options at Topolino's, and we prefer the dinner experience with no characters, to be honest. That being said, the character dining experience for breakfast was a ton of fun and very well done (and we're happy we got to experience it)! Another plus, is the food during both breakfast and dinner were excellent and encourages us to go back! If you do decide to dine at Topolino's Terrace, take the time to enjoy the outdoor terrace which overlooks the Disney Skyliner, Riviera & Caribbean Beach resorts, and provides views of Epcot fireworks!

For this week’s vacation package quote, we’re highlighting one of Disney World’s good neighbor hotel options, the Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace. This good neighbor hotel is not owned and operated by Disney, but is steps away from Disney Springs (which opens up so many shopping and restaurant options for guests staying here). For this package, we are quoting a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children between 3-9 years old). They would like to stay for 7 nights and have 5 days of park tickets in May 2024. Applying the current discounts available, their vacation package quote would come to a total of $4,764 (prices and availability subject to change). Let’s talk pros and cons about this package. Pros = Staying at a good neighbor hotel (which are not run by Disney) offers guests additional opportunities for finding a hotel that offers a great value. While these resorts may not have Disney theming and all the perks of staying on-site, many good neighbor hotel guests receive most of the perks Disney World resort guests receive (like complimentary transportation to the parks and early theme park entry). Cons = The complimentary transportation available at most good neighbor hotels do not run as frequently as Disney’s transportation options, meaning you may find it more challenging to get around property. In addition, families that are hoping for a resort that offers the “Disney feel” will not find that at this hotel. What do you think about this quote? Would you get booking, or keep looking?

Let’s talk about Disney dining! One of our favorite things about vacationing in Disney World is the vast array of dining options available to us. You can please a wide variety of palates, budgets, and preferences with all the restaurant options throughout Disney World. Over the coming weeks, I plan to highlight a few of our dining favorites for you to consider on an upcoming Disney trip. Some of these may be popular restaurants and more competitive to snag a dining reservation, but that’s where I come in! You can lean on me to manage your dining reservations leading up to your trip, so that’s one less thing to stress about. How great is that?

For this week’s vacation package quote, we’re highlighting Disney’s All Star Music resort. This resort offers incredible theming and a variety of room types for families of varying sizes. For this package, we are quoting a family of 6 (2 adults and 4 children between 3-9 years old). They would like to stay in a family suite room for 6 nights and get 5 days of park tickets in August 2024. Applying the current discounts available, their vacation package would come to a total of $5,075 (prices and availability subject to change). Let’s talk pros and cons about this package. Pros = Greatest value for a family suite room at Disney World, suite offers room to sleep six people, two full bathrooms, and a kitchen area. Cons = All Star Resorts only offer bus transportation to the parks, these resorts host many sports and cheer groups throughout the year, so the resort may feel noisy and crowded. Let’s talk about getting groceries delivered to your Disney World resort! Did you know all Disney World resorts accept grocery deliveries sent to your hotel room? This is a great hack to stock your room with essentials like water, snacks, and easy meal solutions. Better yet, you don’t need to be present for your groceries to get delivered! The driver will leave your order with bell services and you can pick it up there. We prefer to use Garden Grocer, which is a local business operating in the Orlando area. We’ve used Amazon in the past and ran into issues with orders getting cancelled at the last minute (due to no delivery drivers being available). Curious about all your grocery delivery options? Looking for ways to spend a “rest day” while at Disney? You can visit Disney Springs without needing to purchase theme park admission. This makes Disney Springs a great spot to visit on your first or last day (since you most likely will be traveling on both of those days)! This resort offers a relaxing getaway vibe with the convenience of being on the Disney Skyliner (providing quick access to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios). Pros = Convenient transportation with the Disney Skyliner, more relaxing vibe than other Disney resorts, and larger rooms compared to Disney value resorts. Our client is starting their Disney World vacation, today! We are excited to hear how their stay at Port Orleans French Quarter goes, and we’re confident they’ll have the best time! January is a great time of year to visit Disney World due to the moderate temperatures + lower crowd levels, so they picked a great time of year to have an amazing vacation!

Let’s talk about some personal favorites! At my desk, I’ve collected Disney-related wall art pieces that are special to me. On the top left is a print of Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, the first Disney resort we stayed at (and our favorite!). Underneath is a print of the Disney monorail, my favorite Disney transportation method, entering the Contemporary Resort. On the top right is a print of Disney’s Riviera Resort we received from Disney Vacation Club. Joining Disney’s Vacation Club (or DVC) is a major bucket list item for us, so this print reminds us of that future goal. Underneath is a print of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at Epcot, which is a ride themed after my favorite Disney movie (Ratatouille). Finally, in the middle is a collection of my favorite Disney pins we’ve collected during our Disney trips. All of these pieces mean so much to me and get me excited for upcoming Disney World trips! We have a client traveling to Walt Disney World in just three short weeks! They’ll be staying at the lovely Port Orleans French Quarter Resort, which is inspired by the historic cobblestone streets of New Orleans. They’ll feel like they’ve been transported out of the hustle and bustle of the busy Walt Disney World theme parks and into one of New Orleans’ most historic neighborhoods! The next Disney World restaurant I’d like to feature is the Hollywood Brown Derby at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This may be a hot take, but this was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences we’ve had at Disney World, so far. The service was top notch, but the quality of food for both of our dinners were not great. Unfortunately, being a signature dining experience at Disney World, the price we paid for subpar food was disappointing. In addition, when we visited the Hollywood Brown Derby, we took advantage of the Fantasmic! dining package, guaranteeing us a great view for the nighttime show at Hollywood Studios. This Fantasmic! dining package meant we were paying slightly more than the already high price point at this restaurant. Would we dine at Hollywood Brown Derby again in the future? The first Disney World restaurant I’d like to feature is Jiko - The Cooking Place at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Between the amazing service, delicious meals, phenomenal wine selections & recommendations, and thoughtful & beautiful restaurant theming, Jiko is our favorite dining experience at Disney. We’ve had the opportunity to dine here three times, and the filet is always a standout entree for us. The appetizers, desserts, and drinks are all great, but nothing beats the filet and side of Mac and Cheese, in our opinion! If you do decide to dine at Jiko on an upcoming trip, ensure you take time to explore the Animal Kingdom Lodge’s beautiful theming (both inside and outside on the private Savannah). This resort offers newly refurbished rooms that are steps away from Hollywood Studios and Epcot. For this package, we are quoting two adults that are staying at the BoardWalk for 7 nights and with 5-days of park hopper tickets in May 2024. Applying the current discounts available, their vacation package would come to a total of $4,665 (prices and availability subject to change). Let’s talk pros and cons of this package. Pros = The BoardWalk Inn is in one of the best locations on all of Disney World property (argueably, it is the BEST location). In addition to being steps away from Hollywood Studios and Epcot, you are within walking distance of all the amentities and restaurants at the BoardWalk, Yacht & Beach Club, Swan and Dolphin, and the skyliner (which provides access to Riviera, Caribbean Beach, Art of Animation, and Pop Century)! Also, the newly refurbished rooms at the BoardWalk Inn feel high-end and worth the price of staying at a deluxe Disney World resort. Cons = being a deluxe resort, the BoardWalk Inn does have higher prices than the value and moderate resorts at Disney World. What do you think about this quote? We got to experience the new Moana Journey of Water attraction at Epcot during our recent trip. While not the most thrilling attraction to say the least, it was absolutely beautiful to experience! Journey of Water teaches us about the water cycle in a fun and entertaining approach, and you may get a little wet along the way! 💧 There’s also small details throughout that feature some of your favorite characters from Moana, which is a great addition. The other night, we attended the Disney After Hours event at Magic Kingdom. These After Hours special ticketed events allow you to visit the parks late at night with lower crowds, complimentary snacks and soft drinks, and some special shows/experiences. We were most excited to see the special showing of Disney’s Enchantment, the fireworks spectacular that was featured during Disney World’s 50th Anniversary. We arrived at Disney World the other day and checked in to the Gran Destino Tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs resort! This resort truly takes our breath away with its high-end finishes and design. What surprises us the most is how moderate the price point is to stay here! The Gran Destino Tower provides you with a deluxe resort vibe and at a much more moderate price point. Some critique this resort due to it’s large size and the fact that there’s only bus transportation to the theme parks, but we have not found either factor to be an issue during our trip, so far. We’re thinking this resort may become a favorite for us! Staying in the Magic Kingdom resort area offers great transportation options to guests, most notably to the Magic Kingdom theme park. All the Magic Kingdom resort options on the monorail have both monorail and boat transportation options to get to Magic Kingdom quickly. Some others that are not on the monorail line, like the Wilderness Lodge, offer boat transportation to Magic Kingdom, as well. What’s a must do activity in Disney’s Animal Kingdom? Visiting Pandora, the World of Avatar, of course! Disney’s Imagineers did a phenomenal job creating an immersive environment with this land in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. In addition to a highly designed and themed land, there are two top attractions to check out in Pandora: Avatar Flight of Passage & Na’vi River Journey. These rides tend to have the longest wait times compared to other attractions at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, but they are well worth the wait!
