Armelle, our founder, absolutely ❤️ Mexico, and she even lived there for a while. She had visited the central part of Oaxaca a few years prior to a 2020 visit to the 𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐜𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭. Hello Travel Peeps! Have you seen some 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐬 on your trips? At 𝐚𝐤𝐭𝐢𝐯 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐭, we often share the beauty and majesty of the wild life our clients can encounter on a safari 🚙 to Tanzania 🇹🇿. The mighty creatures they admire there are just as fascinating as the 𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 we got to observe on a trip to 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐬 in Mexico 🇲🇽. We are not 100% positive about the identity of these ants 🐜, but are quite confident they may be 𝘊𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘶𝘴 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘴 ants. Their color was incredible, a 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐥𝐝 coloring on their behind. They were rather large too, measuring 📏 at about 1 inch or 2.5 cm long! They were bugging a 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐯𝐚, which we have failed to identify. Let us know if you know what kind this larva is! Here is some information about the bighorn sheep: - About 750,000 years ago, the ancestors of the Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep crossed the Bering Land Bridge from Siberia into Alaska, spreading throughout the West, from Canada down to Northern Mexico - A bighorn ram’s horns are massive and curled, up to 45 in/1.14 m long. A pair might weigh up to 30 lbs/13.6 kg - Each fall, rams fight for dominance and mating rights, rearing up on their hind legs before hurling themselves at each other in short charges that can reach 20 miles an hour. The confrontation is repeated – sometimes for hours – until one ram submits and walks away - During the summer, bighorns eat grasses, sedges and clover; in winter, they eat willow and sage. They also enjoy minerals and salt licks - Each spring, lambs are born on high, secluded ledges protected from predators such as wolves, coyotes, and mountain lions. However, this survival strategy doesn’t work against golden eagles who target newly-born lambs - Bighorn may form herds of over 100 individuals, though small groups of 8

This day honors all children 🧒🧒🏽🧒🏿 and encourages us to develop loving 💖, respectful relationships with our children. The first annual National Love Our Children Day was held on April 3, 2004, by Love Our Children USA. The 𝐚𝐤𝐭𝐢𝐯 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐭 team 💗 their children and 𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 🌏!
