Not a common bird to see in Etosha National Park but it is very distinctive with its's white head and black back and wings. This photo was taken on the open plains waiting for a herd of elephants to pass.

THE PANTANAL, BRAZIL. October 18 - 30, 2024
See wildlife that exists nowhere else in the world. Both the Southern and Northern Pantanal will be on the tour agenda. Highlight includes the spectacular Jaguar found along the rivers in the Northern Pantanal.

INDIA. February 16 - March 1, 2025
This tour specifically targets areas of Northwest India where the famous Big Cats reside. The tour will be in two national parks to find and photograph the incredible Bengal Tigers and the elusive Hill Leopards. Daily safaris, morning and evening will make each day an adventure. This is Nature's Tapestry second year offering this tour.

NAMIBIA, AFRICA. April 1-9 and April 10-25, 2025.
This year we are offering two exciting back to back tours to Namibia, Africa. The first tour will encompass visiting famous private game parks and then off to Etosha National Park.
The second tour will include a visit to a private game park, a visit to the eastern part of Etosha and then up the the Caprivi region where there are three famous National Game Parks and river tours to film wildlife that does not reside in Southern Namibia. The animal herds are large in the Caprivi and both Hippos and Cape Buffalo exist because of the ample water supply.
In addition, both tours offer an additional opportunity to participate in a one day fly-in tour to Soussusvlei, the magical sand dunes that are a must to see for any traveller to Namibia.
So this year we have choices for the photographer and traveller to choose from making Namibia a great alternative tour to choose in 2025.

ECUADOR. August 11 - August 22, 2025
This is a wonderful tour that begins in Quito and then visits the Western Slope of the Andes, followed by the second half of the trip that travels to the Eastern Slope of the Andes down to the Amazon Basin. The tour is essentially a tour to discover the incredible bird species that exist in this wonderful country. Hummingbirds, Tanagers and even the C**k of the Rock will be seen plus other species not seen or photographed often.

COSTA RICA. We will be offering tours in 2025 back to Costa Rica but the timing has not been finalized as yet. This will be done shortly.

Nature's Tapestry Photo Adventure Tours just returned from a very successful tour to Costa Rica, March 10 - April 7. The wildlife was fantastic and our guests were fortunate to get super shots of the many species of birds that exist in this wonderful country. Our next tour to Costa Rica will be in mid January 2024. March 30 - April 7, 2023, CENTRAL COSTA RICA

Discover the incredible photography opportunities in the heart and soul of the country from the steamy rain forests to the high Talamanca mountains. Principally a tropical bird experience but also opportunities to photograph monkeys, sloths, frogs and reptiles.

May 1 - June 15, 2023, NAMIBIA, AFRICA

A unique Safari adventure that never disappoints but has amazing opportunities for astonishing photos. Not only will we visit Etosha National Park but visit private game farms in the north central part of the country but also in the famous Caprivi Strip that borders Botswana, Angola and Zambia.

October 17 - October 30, 2023, THE PANTANAL, BRAZIL

Amazing Safari opportunity to see animal and birds that do not exist any other place on earth. The tour will begin in The Southern PANTANAL in the state of Mato Grosso Do Sul followed by traveling to the Northern PANTANAL, in the state of Mato Grosso. Here we will focus on tracking and getting great photos of the elusive Jaguar. This is an amazing tour and frankly a trip of a lifetime!

This is a tour to remember for a lifetime and includes the incredible Etosha National Park, home to huge herds of wild animals and birds. It is one of the largest wild animal parks in all of Africa. Also we will visit the magical sand dunes of Sosssusvlei where the sun is constantly changing the colors of the sand into spectacular colors. Here we will also encounter animals that thrive in the desert climate.

2022 TOUR SCHEDULE HIGHLIGHTS

Namibia Africa Safari May 20-June 2

The tour to Namibia will kick off May 20, 2022 from Windhoek, Namibia's capital. Included in this tour are visits to Etosha National Park, one of the largest wild animal parks in Africa and Soussuvlei where you can see some of the largest sand dunes that change magical colors as the sun moves over them during the day. Many other highlights of this safari are noted in our brochure that we will send you if you message us. We will return back to the USA on June 2, 2022. Three persons have already booked and we have only three additional spots remaining.

OSA Peninsula, Tropical Rain Forest, Costa Rica July 18-22

The OSA is one of the most biological diverse areas on earth that abounds with wildlife and rain forest vegetation. Very different than other parts of Costa Rica. We stay in one lodge and make it our base for the duration of the tour. We leave early each morning from the lodge and fan out to specific unique places to obtain unique photographs of birds, animals, frogs and reptiles; plus the beautiful flowers that exist there are wonderful. We will leave the USA on day one of the tour and overnight in San Jose. The next morning we will take a flight to Puerto Jimenez, in the OSA, and spend the next eight days on tour. Tropical Hummingbird Tour, Ecualor, August 12-24, 2022

This tour begins with a two night stay in Quito to visit the tourist spots and shop at the native Indian market. Day three we begin this wonderful and exciting tour on the Western Slope of the Andes spending six days visiting unique locations for different tropical birds each day. Days seven through ten we will travel to the Eastern Slope of the Andes for different varieties of birds. Throughout the tour the concentration on hummingbirds will be incredible as the number of species found in Ecuador exceeds most other countries in South America. We just returned from a successful tour to the OSA Peninsula in Costa Rica. Great place to capture photographs of wildlife in untouched nature amongst some of the most bio diverse rain forest in the world. Our next tour to Central Costa Rica takes place in October of this year (Oct 1-`10, 2021) and there are still a few spaces left. This is a tour of visiting four special locations to take photos of the magnificent birds that are found in this country. Still have two available vacancies on Natures Tapestry Photo Adventure Tour to the OSA Peninsula in Costa Rica July 1-9, 2021. The Osa Peninsula is located in the southern part of the country between the Golfo Dulce (Sweet Gulf) and the Pacific Ocean and very close to the Panama border. National Geographic has called the OSA one of the most bio diverse locations on earth abounding in wildlife and fauna.

If you have been to the central part of Costa Rica you know the wonderful bird and reptile life that exists there. The OSA offers a different view of this country abounding in the four species of monkeys, birds, frogs, reptiles and other animals. Greetings! Our website, naturestapestryjlm.com has just been updated and details all of our upcoming tour workshops that we have planned for 2021 and 2022 but we felt a reminder would be appropriate to send to those of you who have probably been yearning for a time when we can safely go on a photography tour. It has been a long and frustrating time that we have all gone through as a result of covid 19 but hopefully the end is in view with the vaccines getting widespread distribution.

2021 TOURS

COSTA RICA, The Osa Peninsula, July 1-9
The Osa is one of the most biological diverse destinations on earth and contains a vast quantity of birds, reptiles, monkeys and other animals as well as insects to photograph. Located in the southern part of the country very close to Panama and bordered by the Pacific Ocean and the Golfo Dulce. The tour has been designed to maximize each day's activity to obtain unique experiences for the amatuer as well as professional photographer and is quite a different experience than other tours to the central part of Costa Rica.

ECUADOR, A Tropical Hummingbird Tour From the High Andes to the Amazon Basin, August 13-25
Ecuador the country of eternal spring has an amazing quantity of bird species to film, especially the hummingbirds but other unique birds as well that are difficult to find in other places in South America. The tour begins in Quito where a day of sightseeing in the old city and visiting the famed markets will give you a day to get acclimatized. Then the first half of the tour begins in the high Andes of Western Ecuador. The second half of this exciting tour will take us to the Eastern Slope of the Andes down towards the Amazon Basin. Both locations offer different and unique bird species to photograph. This tour will be our fifth time visiting this wonderful country. The people and culinary experiences are outstanding and most enjoyable. Hard to leave this place. COSTA RICA, Central Costa Rica, October 1-10
We have been conducting this tour workshop for about 10 years and it never seems repetitive as the diverse wildlife we see is always wonderful to photograph. The tour encompases travelling from the coastal lowlands of the country to experience the vast quantity of wildlife (birds, reptiles, insects, frogs etc.) that exist in this beautiful country. We then travel to the Talamanca Mountain area of the country to look for the most amazing Resplendent Quetzal and other bird species only found in this area of the country. The Pantanal, Brazil, November 14 - 24
This exciting tour visits both the Southern Pantanal as well as the Northern Pantanal. On this tour you will see wildlife that is truly unique; from the Giant Anteater, Capybara the largest rodent in the world, Giant River Otters, Brazilian Tapir, Hyacinth Macaws and scores of other bird species but the most exciting part of this tour is to explore the rivers of the Northern Pantanal in search of the Jaguar. The sprawling Pantanal is the largest wetland system in the world where nature is still pristine and untouched and abundant with wildlife.

2022 TOURS

Namibia Africa, May 19 - June 2
Our tour to Namibia is different from other African Safaris because we drive ourselves in specialty designed vehicles that will traverse all terrain found in the country. Namibia is located in the southern part of the African continent and is very large size wise but has a very small population. The tour consists of two regions we will visit. The first is Etosha National Park, one of the largest wildlife parks in all of Africa and Sossusvlei where the famous sand dunes in the Namib Naukluft desert are located. Etosha is indeed a fantastic experience where huge herds of wild animals can be seen at the many water holes within the park. We will be able to get a great view of this country when driving between locations. The people are friendly and the food is excellent. We can send you details of this tour if you send us your email.

Additional tours in 2022 will include Costa Rica, Ecuador and The Pantanal similar to the ones scheduled for 2021 and noted above.

Natures Tapestry Photo Adventure Tours.

JudyLynn and I are off to the OSA Peninsula in southern Costa Rica July 27 - August 3rd, 2019 with our friends from Out Of Chicago. The Osa is an amazing place where you will see few tourists but lots of incredible birds, monkeys, other animals, frogs, reptiles and beautiful scenery. This place is one of the world's premier rain forest destinations to visit. National Geographic has called the Osa, one of the most biological diverse locations on earth.
