International Driving Permit ✔️

I leave for Sicily in just a couple of weeks and these travel items are already out and ready to go!

Since we’ll be renting cars in Sicily, I made a trip to my local AAA last week to get an International Driving Permit (IDP), an official document that translates your domestic drivers license into multiple languages.

Many countries require an IDP to drive legally and fine for driving without one can be quite costly.

An IDP is typically valid for one year from the date of issue so keep this in mind you’re planning to take multiple trips within a year.

At Alliventures, we LOVE a craft so when I came across this tile painting class in Porto, I was so excited to suggest it to my friend/client who also appreciates a craft!

In this 2-hour Azulejo tile glazing workshop led by a professional artist in her ceramic studio, my friend and her husband will have the opportunity to create their own beautiful tiles in the traditional Portuguese style. They’ll learn about the history of these Portuguese tiles before choosing their design and painting their own.

Because the traditional technique is used, their tiles will need to be fired in a special ceramic kiln after glazing which will take a few days. Since my clients will already have departed Porto, the artist will mail them to their home.

What a great thing to receive when you’re home and experiencing the vaca blues! I also couldn’t think of a better keepsake for their trip to Portugal. 🇵🇹
