Travel Review- Did you know that the ITT office has discount tickets to Kennedy Space Center? Located 52 miles from Orlando and 21 from Cocoa Beach, it is an easy day trip for those vacationing in Florida.
The Kennedy Space Center is one of NASA's 10 field centers and it is essential to the USA's Space Program. The Visitor's Center offers tons of unique and educational programs that focus on space, science and technology. We expected this to be more fun for the adults, but we very wrong. Kennedy Space Center offers plenty to do for all ages. You can take guided tours out to the spaceport and they have 2 IMAX theatres. Of course we saw the Rocket Garden, the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame, the Apollo/Saturn V Center, and the Space Shuttle Atlantis, but there were also giant slides, stem activities, plenty of vehicles to crawl around in and even a multi story indoor play area that captivated the kiddos for hours. Yes, the indoor Planet Play also serves coffee and adult beverages.
We picked a rainy day which worked out fine as much of the attractions are indoors. We recommend raincoats for all your Florida adventures anyway just in case. Bring money for souvenirs and astronaut ice cream. Also, don't forget your camera. A stroller is a good idea for little ones because of the many facilities across the grounds. There are plenty of dining options available.
There is more than a full day of adventure here but we left just enough time to hit the beach ono the way back to Orlando. This trip was defiantly for mom and dad, but the kids ended up having an amazing time and we so glad we took a day to make the trip over. It was interactive and educational and fun for the whole family.
