Okay so let’s talk about my experience in St. Lucia during Covid. So much has changed but my passion for travel has not.

For the record St. Lucia had 0 (yes-zero) deaths due to Covid and had only 26 cases total-in which every single person has recovered. To be clear-when we arrived in St. Lucia, there were Zero cases in the country.

•St. Lucia what can I say-it speaks for itself when it comes to lush & beauty..it’s Hawaii to the Caribbean. Fruit trees line every road so no one-not even the homeless will go hungry.
Every fruit looked better than the next. So fresh and delicious.

Our trip began by getting a Covid test which must be done 7 days prior to arrival. Every traveler must show proof upon entry. As well as a medical form to be filled out online and carried on person.

Upon arrival into St Lucia-your temperature is taken, your hands are sanitized and you are taken to an area for a small interviewing process. Once all cleared you are swift off into your private transportation to your resort.

Upon arriving Ladera Resort, they once again took our temperature, including our driver, sanitized our hands and then welcomed us with a welcoming drink and shown to our room.

Since there were only 6 couples at the resort we were given an upgrade to an incredible 3 walled suite where we felt we were one with nature. The views were Unreal! One plus for traveling during Covid ✅

In our room we found a cell phone to call our own private butler when needed,
(fancy-fancy), a heated plunge pool, fully stocked frig with water, soda and beer, bug repellent which was very much needed, a bottle of champagne and a welcoming plate of fruit.

Upstairs we had a beautiful bedroom overlooking the Pitons and netting surrounding our bed.

Our room was cleaned twice daily with turn down service every evening in which wrapped baked goods were left on our pillow for a midnight snack.

Breakfast (which was included) was made every morning with the finest organic foods, mostly grown on property and the most delicious freshly squeezed juices.

Free yoga class was shortly after. One of my most relaxing classes to date.

We also took advantage of the beautiful hiking trails on site which was about a 2 mile trail up near the top of the pitons. The most unbelievable views I’ve ever seen.

Our stay was in the rainforest and even though there may have been intermittent rain it was still so gorgeous each and every day we were there.

*Take note, once at your resort-you really aren’t allowed to leave due to covid restrictions. Other than not being able to get out and eat locally we were pretty content with relaxing to be honest. The only exception to leaving was for water excursions which we did take advantage of for an amazing sunset cruise.

Back to the food.. since many of you know how much of a foodie I am I was really disappointed in not getting out to “eat locally”. So Chef Nigel was kind enough to bring local eats in. Pig tails were a huge hit amongst us and other guests we met. Yes pig tails-who would have thought.
I couldn’t thank him enough for going out of his way for us. They were delish!

And yes your temperature is taken at every meal and recorded for safety reasons.

All in all- Yes it was a hassle to get there and Yes we had to jump through hoops but Honestly it truly was all worth it in the end!!!

So grateful we got to experience this even during Covid.

~I’m happy to report-we have been home now for 2 weeks and have not had any Covid symptoms.

What a Great, clean city to explore!
Staying Inn Boston for $139 night was the perfect location to get a taste of it all in-within walking distance. With nearby trolleys for exploring and learning local history, Faneuil Hall for everyone’s palate and the nearby North End-“Little Italy”.

Get to the Salty Girl in Boston’s Back Bay district before the doors open to ensure a table. This hidden gem is Top notch! With delicious clam chowda, melt in your mouth lobster roll and tasty sushi rolls.

But Off the Eaten Path food tour was the icing on the cake. From Decadent homemade pasta to wine tasting, 30 month aged Prosciutto, gelato and pizza. Paula was so knowledgeable of the North End and was an amazing experience creating special memories for our family.
Lastly-I couldn’t post this without mentioning Union Oyster House for the Best oysters on the east coast. You can’t get any fresher than having them shucked to order right in front of you!!!😋
