ANTELOPE CANYON & UNDER CANVAS ⛺️

Antelope Canyon is breathtaking - the colors are unforgettable. In contrast to the Grand Canyon, in Antelope Canyon you can walk right through, touch and experience the Canyon in one hour.

Our stay at Under Canvas was cut short due to high winds (see my story highlights) but WOW is this a fun way to travel and experience nature, see the millions of stars in the sky and unplug.

No matter how much I research and plan, being on the ground always gives me those ah-ha moments that make itineraries even stronger—like knowing when to pivot when the weather doesn’t cooperate. We hit an unexpected snowstorm as we headed back to Phoenix. Ahhhh spring, you sure keep things interesting.

GRAND CANYON 🏞️
The Grand Canyon is one of those places that no picture or video could ever truly capture—you just have to see it for yourself.

No matter how many times I plan a destination for a client, experiencing it firsthand always gives me those ah-ha moments that make itineraries even better: the best ways to navigate the park, when to avoid the crowds, what’s worth adding (or skipping), and so much more!

Some of my favorites:
✔️ Staying at Bright Angel Lodge in a cabin just steps from the rim
✔️ Our sunset Pink Jeep tour with private, crowd-free viewpoints
✔️ Watching the canyon colors change as the sun went down

SEDONA 🌵 🏜️
Sedona is a truly special destination, but you could miss so much if you don’t know where to look.

No matter how many times I plan a destination for a client, going and seeing it for myself opens up so many ah-ha moments in making those itineraries even better: ways to make their experiences smoother, distances between sites, what to eliminate, what to add and so much more!

Some of my favorites:

😣 Why These Facebook Posts Make a Travel Advisor Cringe

We get it—you want the best recommendations for your next vacation. But when you crowd source a question like this, you’re setting yourself up for disappointment. Here’s why:

1️⃣ One-Size-Does-Not-Fit-All: The perfect resort for one family may be a nightmare for another. Are you looking for a kids’ club? A calm beach? Great food? A water park? These details matter.

2️⃣ Price Variability: A recommendation from someone who traveled in the off-season won’t reflect what you’ll pay during your travel dates. Plus, a cheap deal often comes with hidden trade-offs (I’m talking to you Costco and Expedia fans 😝).

3️⃣ Misleading Opinions: What one traveler loved, another might hate. Resort quality, service levels, and overall experience can vary greatly—even at the same property or brand!

2️⃣ Overpacking sounds like a smart move until you’re the one wrestling three suitcases up narrow stairs at your scorching Airbnb. 🥵

3️⃣ That “too good to be true” deal? Oh, it was. Hello, noisy construction 🚧 on your kid free vacation.

4️⃣ Thinking, “My passport is good” without dusting it off until the day you depart? What could go wrong? Well, everything, actually. ✈️

What an incredible experience at such a beautiful location: the Nashville Parthenon. YES, that is a 42 foot statue of Athena! 👑 🎻🏛️ Watching the cellist and how entranced he was as soon as he starts playing was infectious. Highly recommend finding tickets in your area. These concerts are held all over the world by @fever_us . 🌎 Thank you to the Listesto String Quartet for such a beautiful set. We brought our kids who play the violin and the voila - and were so grateful for front row seats.
