We'd like to apologize for not keeping this page up to date through the Covid (19) crisis. We have been focused on our other business's operation. We share your disappointment with having to cancel plans to visit Alaska and stay with us. At this point there is no real way to estimate when Alaska will lift its mandatory 14 day quarantine requirement on travelers arriving in Alaska. At this point we are not taking reservations for May. We're holding out hope that June may reveal a return to normalcy.

If you are an independent traveler the crowds in Talkeetna will be at the lowest point they will ever be. If it's safe to travel, it will be a great time to do so. Princess tours has cancelled its entire season to Talkeetna, and other large providers have as well.

If you are an Alaskan, travel restrictions for family units have been lifted. We encourage you to frequent our many friends in the lodge and B&B business. At this point we are unprepared for May reservations, but encourage you to visit us in June.

Please stay safe, stay happy and we'll be here when the time is right.

It's a big snow year in Talkeetna. We haven't been posting much as we've been busy all winter. Here is a view of what Ruth Glacier Avenue House looks like in the winter. While I was off playing in the snow on my snowmachine, April got a 2' dump of snow. She's the toughest woman I know. Luckily she hopped in the skid steer and got to work, digging out the cars and the exhausts for our heaters.

Travel delays on the Parks Highway have improved significantly today. They have removed the flagging operations for the McKinley Fire, but speed reductions to 45mph in the fire zone are in place. This will add less than 10 minutes travel time from the Valley or Anchorage. Smoke in the Talkeetna area has been quite a bit less than the lower Valley and Anchorage. This weekend would be a great time to come up and relax.

Looking for a place to stay for Talkeetna Brewfest? We can easily handle up to ten people. Denali Brewing will be hosting a dinner on Sept. 20th, the Brewfest is on the 21st. Wonderful celebration this weekend in honor of our 25th wedding anniversary. So many memories, our life’s journey started in this house. A little 16x20 cabin was the beginning. A lot has changed for our home but my favorite spot will always be where he asked me to be his wife.
