It is officially Mike Martin Pro/Am Surf Festival week! Let the fun begin!

PRO/AM registration closes Wednesday at 2pm and there will be no sign-ups after that...yes that means no beach sign-ups day of!

We have a few teams looking to fill a couple of spots so let me know if you are interested in being a part of the team contest on Friday! Team registration is tomorrow from 4-6 at Jimmy Hula's on Canal Street.

They say "only a surfer knows the feeling," but as a photographer, there's this sensation when you show up to a break just at dawn to find that perfectly forecasted a 2ft overhead day with light offshore winds. The sun sits just low enough to perfectly backlight some radical maneuver by one of the beloved local surfers. These are the moments that drive my passion for being a surf photographer, ensuring that I rise hours before sunrise and journey to wherever the waves promise to be at their peak.

We want to thank everyone who has helped us to raise funds for Joel’s hernia surgery! He will be having the procedure done tomorrow so let’s all pray for a speedy recovery 🙏

Yesterday we put on the first annual Surfing in the Sixties, King of K59 surf contest in Santa Teresa Costa Rica. The contest went great and everyone is already talking about next years event!

Last year this group of guys called wanting to start hosting “Surf and Serve” trips to ideal locations throughout Central America. They had started an organization called “Surfing in the Sixties” and over the last year their organization has evolved tremendously.
This week they are on their 2nd trip to in the Dominican Republic. While there, they are surfing in the mornings, and serving in the afternoons boys home. Their project is to build a cistern, and they have been working incredibly hard! I would imagine pouring concrete is quite difficult after paddling two morning sessions, so I give them a lot of credit 😇
If you are interested in hosting your own “Surf and Serve” trip or any other surf trip, let me know and we can get something set up!
Special thanks to for helping out the group when I lost my passport on the way to Miami 🤦‍♀️ I think I could write a book about my 32 hours after losing that darn thing all to end up back at home not on the trip, but in the end I know it happened how it was supposed to🤔
