Yes, hiccups are to be expected with the best laid plans…even to a traveling fool like me…About to go to bed for a few hours before an O dark thirty pickup and Delta app notifies me FLIGHT CANCELLED. (1:30am) So we spring into action on the batphone. Lose a direct flight but still salvage our itinerary with minimum damage. Upside: we are concurrently #1 &2 for upgrades. Many cancelled San Diego departures due to nightly fog for a few days now. Scrambling to verify new driver for Santa Ana (that’s the OC for my friends elsewhere) but we shall see what this morning brings. Practicing what I preach: expect detours and work for solutions.

I just took the Gornergrat cogwheel train to 3100 meters, and the views of the Matterhorn are reported to be amazing 😉❄️

The Gornergrot cogwheel train takes you to 3100 meters, where many witness the breathtaking sight of the Matterhorn, 28 other peaks over 4000 meters, and the Gorner Glacier. Today we saw none of that!
➡️ Which is what I preach to clients: Not everything works out as planned, but ride the tide and adjust sails accordingly!

Break out the Lipitor! First pot of fondue did not last long for the four of us! Crisp evening air greeted us for the walk *downhill* to the Crystal Hotel “Where mountain lakes mirror the highest peaks.
Where the glorious natural scenery is like a promise. Here you will experience our warm-hearted hospitality…”. Time for an early night as tomorrow’s journey starts early!
