Here is an update from Walt Disney World on the upcoming closures and construction coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios, starting May 10, 2025.

"There are a lot of new adventures planned at Disney’s Hollywood Studios – from monsters and mermaids to villains and more. There’s huge excitement around the new Monsters, Inc-themed land and more details were shared today about timelines for that area of the park.
Construction on the land is ready to begin and progress walls begin installation in the area before the end of March. This means that Cast at Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano will serve their final Guests on May 10.
As for Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo, Guests will have some additional time to enjoy these areas as we kick-off a glorious 5-month finale before these areas have their final curtain call on June 7.
It’s no secret that the Muppets have a special place in our hearts and we are exploring ways to preserve the Muppet*Vision 3D film and other parts of the experience for generations to come. And don’t forget! Kermit, Miss Piggy and friends are soon headed just across the park to their new home on Sunset Boulevard. More to come about that timeline."

From Disney Cruise Line:

"Beginning January 22, a gratuity increase will take effect for all sailings beginning January 23, 2025 or later.
For non-Concierge Guests, Disney Cruise Line will increase the recommended pre-paid gratuities by $1.50 per person/per day. This new recommendation will increase the gratuities for the Assistant Dining Room Server, Dining Room Server, and Stateroom Host/Hostess. The total recommended gratuity is $16.00 per person/per day.
For Concierge Guests, the recommended increase is $3.75 per person/per day. In addition to the positions listed above, there is also a recommended increase for the Assistant Stateroom Host/Hostess and the Concierge Lounge Team positions. The recommended gratuity is now $27.25 per person/per day.
Guests who have already pre-paid gratuities for an upcoming sailing will not increase to the new pricing."

We have an important update from Disney Cruise Line to share with you. Disney Cruise Line's luggage tags will soon feature a new format that will streamline the luggage process by making luggage tags easier to identify. DCL began sending out luggage tags reflecting the new format, as shown below, last week.
Each ship will have its own specific color for luggage tags. Three tag versions will now be sent to guests: Concierge, non-concierge, and GTY. The tags for Concierge guests will no longer be a separate color. Instead, they will be the same color as non-Concierge guests and have a crossed-key icon. The keys will display on tags sent pre-cruise as well as the generic tags that guests can get at the port. GTY stateroom tags will feature a large blank space for Guests to write in their stateroom number once it is assigned.

The color for each ship is as follows:
- Magic - GREEN
- Wonder – ORANGE
- Dream – BLUE
- Fantasy – PURPLE
- Wish – MAROON
- Disney Treasure – YELLOW

In addition to the above changes, Guests may notice the following when receiving the new luggage tag design:
- Updated luggage tags will no longer feature a barcode.
- Stateroom numbers will be printed in a larger font.
- The timeline for Guests to receive their luggage tags will remain unchanged.
- The Luggage Tag Mailer will remain the same. Only the luggage tags themselves are being updated.
- The process of obtaining luggage tags at the port will remain the same.
- Porters will have both Concierge and Non-Concierge generic luggage tags available for Guests who arrive without luggage tags.

Additionally, as this change is happening in the middle of active sailings, there will be a period when Guests on the same sailing may have different luggage tags, some with the current format luggage tags and others with the updated format luggage tags. This will have no impact on the luggage process. Guests do not need to request new luggage tags if they have already received the previous version.

There will officially be no more extensions. Federal agencies, including the TSA, will begin enforcing REAL IDs on May 7, 2025. This means that starting on May 7, 2025, you will need a REAL ID to fly in the U.S. if you are 18 or older.

While all states are now issuing REAL ID-compliant driver’s licenses and identification cards, many, if not all, have to mail you your ID. If you don't already have a REAL ID, please plan accordingly if you have travel coming up. Make sure you consult your state's DMV website to see what paperwork you need when applying for a REAL ID, the complete process, and your state's current turnaround time to ensure you have a REAL ID before May 7.

Please remember that a REAL ID is not a U.S. Passport, and it does not replace one when one is required.

Today Disney Cruise Line shared more information on the four new ships coming to the fleet between 2027 and 2031!

"New Ship Class
The three vessels in Disney’s new ship class will feature industry-leading technology and design to expand Disney Cruise Line’s global reach and support its environmental goals. Able to carry 3,000 Guests and measuring approximately 100,000 gross tons, they will be 20 percent larger than the Disney Magic class and smaller than the Disney Dream and Disney Wish classes, ultimately allowing Disney Cruise Line to access more ports and destinations across the globe, bringing its world-class entertainment, incredible dining, Guest service, and uniquely Disney experiences to more families in more places. The three ships are planned for delivery in 2029, 2030 and 2031.

Fourth Wish Class Ship
In addition to this new class of vessel, Disney Cruise Line will introduce an additional sister ship to the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, and Disney Destiny. The ship, set for delivery in 2027, will be approximately 144,000 gross tons, accommodate 4,000 Guests, and be powered by liquefied natural gas.

The four ship names, onboard experiences, itineraries and designs are still in development - stay tuned for updates!"
