If you love the beach, the sun and relaxing by the sparkling ocean, you are sure to enjoy Playa Dorada beach at the Blue JackTar Hotel. You’ll meet your welcome host outside your Taino Bay cruise ship terminal and be driven a short distance along the Malecon to the hotel. Located about 5 miles from the downtown Taino Bay cruise pier, your air-conditioned mini-bus or deluxe van will get you to the

beach in style while your host gives you some history and facts about the Dominican culture as you go. The Malecon is long shaded sidewalk along the oceanfront boulevard. Lined with restaurants and bars it’s a favorite of locals and tourists. On arrival to the beach, you’ll be welcomed with a complimentary rum punch to get you in the tropical mood. You’ll have approximately 3 hours to enjoy the beach at the hotel. You will have access to the beach, umbrellas, lounge chairs (first-come-first-served but plentiful) and the on-site restaurant/bar. There are freshwater showers to clean off the salt and sand when you’re finished. Take a stroll along the beach, swim in the sparkling blue ocean, catch some sun on a lounge chair, take a nap or read a book in the shade or buy some snacks and cocktails at Jack’s Kite and Grill beach restaurant (bar opens at 10:00 AM, restaurant at 12:00 PM). From here you’ll have fantastic views of Isabel de Torres Mountain with its verdant green jungles and the statue of Christ the Redeemer atop. You can leave your bulky and expensive-to-replace ship beach towel back onboard as the hotel provides you with towel service. Please note that day pass guests do not have access to the hotel itself, the kid's park, the swimming pool or any amenities/services not listed. At the end of your day, your air-conditioned transport will be at the assigned spot and time to return you to your Taino Bay cruise terminal after your relaxing beach day. Depending on time and traffic, you may have enough time to do some downtown shopping before boarding your ship.
