THIS is why I do what I do! 8 have a passion for history, especially Black history. Traditionally, our history was passed on orally. Not so much these days. My lane is Black History. I want the generations after me to know our story. This man, Georgia State School Superintendent, made a decision to cut funding for AP African American Studies. After enough of us made our voices heard, the decision was reversed. WE must tell OUR story. Remember, local elections are very, very important.

Yesterday was a lovely day indeed! What an awesome backdrop for a family reunion photo. They traveled from California, Oregon, Oklahoma, Texas, Virginia, North Carolina, Washington DC, and a few states that I've forgotten. 😳 The bus was filled with family from 3 to 95 years of age. This was their 63rd consecutive family reunion! What a blessing. Family means so much to me, and I love seeing our families come together. ❤️

Congratulations to 32-year-old Ivanna Seymour on becoming the first Bahamian captain of the new Royal Carribean cruise ship, the second largest cruise ship in the world, holding 8,000 passengers and crew.

The Utopia of the Seas will set sail for the first time on July 19, 2024. Captain Ivanna will sail into her home country, Nassau, Bahamas, on Sunday, July 21, 2024, from Port Canaveral, Florida.

Let me say this. I'm secure in what I do. I'm a Black business owner, and I support other Black owned businesses in the tourism industry in which I am in. I remember when my husband and I went to Savannah, and we wanted to book a tour with someone we were referred to. That tour guide was traveling and gladly referred us to Dr. Toure with Day Clean journeys
That's how it works. There's enough for ALL of us to eat. We each have a niche in Atlanta tourism. I'm secure in what I do, so much so that I'm okay with referring them if I'm not available. It's called support, even if they never consider me, I'M GOOD!!! What The Most High has for me is for me. Each one of these companies has something for everyone. Here's a few I'm familiar with:

Whew...talmbout hot! 🔥🥵😭 Played eight holes with my husband yesterday. That's right, eight. I was so hot that I didn't even finish hole eight. He figured I wouldn't do nine, so we bounced. And the huge hawk followed us for three holes. 😬

Mother Alberta Williams King, mother of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., was killed on Sunday morning, June 30, 1974. Mother King was playing the organ during Sunday service at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Marcus Chenault, 21, entered the sanctuary and shot Mother King. She passed later that day at the age of 70.

Slide two is .weaver husband, Mr. Keith Weaver. I love the stories she told about how they started in business. My second favorite part of the night was seeing my friend Seressa there, and I got to meet her high school friend Joyce. Joyce lives in Johannesburg, South Africa 🇿🇦 This meeting was so divine. Joyce won the blinged out bottle for being the person who traveled the furthest.

This book, this tour, and .weaver was amazing last night at the sold-out book tour for Love and Whiskey! This event was above and beyond my expectations. We got to ask any question we wanted, and she answered them all! After watching her Forbes interview, I was stressed for two days 😫 She assured me that all ended well. 😂 If this tour is coming to your city, please go.

"Little Africa On Fire."
Tulsa Race Massacre 1921

The 1921 Attack on Greenwood was the most significant event in the history of Tulsa, Oklahoma. The attack began on May 31st and ended on June 1st.
Following World.War I, Tulsa, was recognized nationally for its affluent Black community known as the Greenwood District, referred to as "Black Wall Street.""" This uprising began due to accusation involving a young Black man and a white woman. The Black man was arrested, and the events that happened next were devastating. Within 24 hours, white rioters looted and set fire to 35 blocks, destroying businesses and homes. As many as 300 people lost their lives. Always remember.

The first Decoration Day, known as Memorial Day, took place on May 1, 1865, organized by freed enslaved ancestors, in Charleston, SC, after the Civil War. The site was at a former planters' racetrack where Confederates held captured Union soldiers during the last year of the war. At least 257 prisoners died, many of disease, and were buried in unmarked graves. Black residents of Charleston decided to give them a proper burial.
Nevertheless, in 1966, the federal government declared Waterloo, New York, the official birthplace of Memorial Day, which held their gathering a year later, May 5, 1866. 😒

We remember those fallen from all wars.

Listen!!! This right here!!! Thank you, , for a wonderful product that works. My elbows are always the most with the ash. It looks like I have been dipping in flour 😩😂 No matter how much I moisturize, nothing seems to work. This did it! I love the exfoliating and then the suds. The Aunties showed up yesterday!!! This beautiful group of beautiful women, native to Nigeria, traveled from Canada, Texas, Maryland, and two were local, in celebration of their high school reunion. My favorite part is when they sang the Nigerian National Anthem to me. 😄 We are honored to share the rich history and culture of Black Atlanta with you. Of course, we missed a few ladies who were resting.
