PSA from your favorite Travel Advisor ☺️

📌If you know you want to travel over spring break or even this summer (April- August) start planning like, yesterday. 😉

📌Pricing is up…everywhere. Including all things travel. What you could get for 3k a few years ago is not available now, think double.... yes, double and sometimes even higher. And unfortunately I don’t have access to a secret vault with discounted pricing on airfare. 🙃 If you want the best pricing and availability, book EARLY!!

📌”Deals” are harder to come by now. So gambling with time to see if the price comes down may leave you with less-than-ideal options (and/or) increased pricing. Resorts are booked, sold out, thus no need to offer "deals". The better prices are obtained when you book early, I don't want you to pay a penny more for your vacation than you have to!

📌Availability is already low for summer travel. This is not a scare tactic- it’s honest and based on my research for current client requests. The earlier you book, the better the availability at resorts and on cruise ships.

📌This is the busiest season of the year for our industry - so patience on our replies is SO appreciated! I promise I'm not ignoring you! ❤️

📌If you use a travel advisor (even if it’s not me) please, please remember that we only get paid for our time when you book & travel with us. The pricing and availability I pull for you won't be valid a week from now. The best time for us to look at prices is when you're ready to book!

❤️Gentle reminder….Travel Advisors are not paid unless you book your travel with them.

They’re paid after you travel!! They are only paid then on the commissionable pieces of your vacation, and those commissions don’t begin to cover the real hours invested, research done, money out of their own pocket traveling to have first hand information, classes taken…. And I could go on!

So if you ask a Travel Advisor for advice after booking a trip on your own, or ask questions so you can book on your own, please know they’re advising you for free from the generosity of their hearts (though insurance gets tricky there). And remember Almost ALL vacations from disney to Alaska, Cruises to Caribbean islands and even European vacations have a Built in Commision which is how the Travel Advisor is paid anyway! So booking on your own just omits you having professional help that you paid for anyway! 🤷🏼‍♀️

Also If you pretend you’re planning to book with them 😩, take their advice and then book elsewhere, you’re hurting a real person who is aiming to be a professional and pay their bills, but getting burned with lost time and money that can’t be recouped.

Most Travel Advisors I know will maintain their professionalism, wish you a wonderful trip, and walk away feeling gut-punched. But the truth is that’s a very tough situation. I know because I live it.

You don’t have to use a Travel Advisor to book your travel. Perhaps that isn’t for everyone. But asking for advice from one, trusting what they share with you, then deciding to skip their services, just isn’t ethically right.

Luckily these experiences are few and far between for me. I have the best clients that ever existed (Truth!!), but I wanted to be honest about how this feels to a Travel Advisor.

If I were missing something important that undercuts someone I’m working with, whether it be a Real Estate Agent, accountant, attorney, lawn care provider, etc, I would definitely want to know.

Thank you for listening/reading. I try to explain that Often people truly have No idea how things Really work so I just wanted to share!!! 😘😘 Happy Weekend my friends!! Cheers to educating everyone on how our industry really works! 🥂
