My solo time doing the Cascade Sierra turned into something I did not expect. As I worked my way north from Lone Pine in 100 plus temps I received a message. “ GET TO ORCAS ISLAND”, a place I had never been.
Plans change when you least expect and this was more than a job. I was to embark on a detour to one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Orcas Island In the San Juan Islands off the coast of northern Washington.
I expressed northward and joined my longtime Amigo from my years in Alaska to catch the ferry from Anacortes to Orcas Island where we would (three of us) assemble one of our most challenging projects any of us have done in our 30 years of construction.

I was detoured to Orca’s Island Washington to build a Mandala pre fab 18 sided 3 story home overlooking the San Juan Islands. What was supposed to be a long solo tour ended up being one of the most amazing trips I have ever experienced.🌈😊☀️🙏🏼

Hello out there,
I’m still piecing together footage and short stories of what I will call a “Summer Of Constant Movement”.
Rapid change with a surprise around every bend keeps you living in the moment and by going deep into your journey whole heartedly no matter how difficult, you will come through shining if you stay the course in complete contemplation. Without complete ignorance to the current narrative in the world, I knew that raising my vibration and getting into my centered natural world would not only help me but could help anyone one else I come in contact with. At the beginning of summer it was time to take off on the bike.
Any of you who tour know the freedom and the feeling of breaking out on a long trip. My body and thoughts were immediately responding to the routine and soon it was a way of life again. Liberating and sometimes humiliating,
There are no real words for the rugged comfort of heading into the unknown.
After two years of recovering from “Almost Dead In Colombia” I felt fortunate and like a different person as I climbed over high passes and crossed the desert in 100 plus temperatures. The trip had no destination and the only thing I knew was I was sticking to the Sierra Cascade variation with an open itinerary. During the long hot section of highway 395 between Bishop and Mammoth I was invited to help build a Mandala 18 sided 3 story home on Orcas Island Washington. Opportunity often happens when you are already out there creating good energy and it will throw a curve in your plans😊🌈👍 This is Living! I definitely took the opportunity and that is a story in itself.

Tectonic Traveller YouTube. Going solo on this one. Hwy 395 from Southern California to Oregon. The goal is to stay on the spine of the Sierra after Tahoe. A weird mountain bike/ touring rig that I converted for the trip should prove to be epic. Many gravel detours on USFS roads that will most likely still have snow. Exciting times. 😊
