If you have been looking for a place to escape, Playacar is a perfect place. Excurisons to the Mayan ruins or to the crystal clear waters of Isla Mujeres are within an hour. I can recommend all kinds of fun activities for you to do! Snorkeling, swimming in cenotes, catamaran rides, buggy tours in the jungle and more!

The Carnival Sunshine leaves out of Charleston almost every Saturday of the year! This is a great way to go on a cruise for the first time. If you live in SC, your travel time is no more than 4 hours. If you want to spend the night at a hotel, there are fabulous Hilton properties in downtown Charleston who can get you to the port on time the morning you cruise. I can recommend wonderful restaurants, jazz bars, tours and more! I grew up in Charleston and live there now. I would love show you how to experience Charleston like the locals do!

How about a fun 3 day, 2 night vacation to Charleston with your significant other or friends? I booked a trip for two friends and me in early September. We stayed at a local Hampton Inn hotel in Charleston (West Ashley area) for $250 total after taxes. We spent a day at Kiawah's Beachwalker Park ($10/weekdays/$15/weekends) where we walked and looked for shells, sat and enjoyed watching the waves and then were able to change and shower in the brand new facilities they have there. We ate a meal at Burwell's in downtown Charleston where we enjoyed a three course meal during Restaurant Week for $50 each. Before leaving, we had brunch at Toast (West Ashley location). Of course there was plenty of time to talk, swim in the pool, shop and more. We were all local girls, so we didn't take any tours, but Peninsula Walking Tours (ask for Evan!) is a great place to set up a tour to hear all about Charleston while you are visiting!
