“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain”
I see so many people who spend time and money on their vacations only to allow unfavorable weather to ruin their day. The storm WILL pass. It rained pretty hard today so we went to the Hall of Presidents, Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor and Carousel of Progress. It was drizzling when we got out but nothing crazy. Our reward was a fairly empty park which allowed me to get some pretty cool shots, some one on one time for my kids with the pianist and the Rainy Day Cavalcade. Totally worth it!

Rain Rain Go Away…
Not so fast! Rainy days are a given most summer days in Florida but that really doesn’t have to ruin your day! I’ve seen so many posts from people with upcoming trips lamenting the forecast. It can definitely affect your day but there are a few things you can do to make the most of it.
First, I highly recommend packing a good rain poncho and shoes that are compatible with the water. They do sell rain ponchos in the parks but you definitely don’t want to wait until you need it to get it. I pack each person’s poncho in their own labeled Ziploc style bag to prevent having to sort adult from youth sizes. My kids are old enough that I have each one carry their own backpack (yes… Loungefly. There, I said it. =0) ) so I don’t have to sit there in the rain distributing everyone’s before I can do mine.
Second, check your forecast. If rain is forecasted for the day, make a plan for what you can do during that time. Some things I like to do are catch a show or indoor attraction, plan that time for a lunch break or even find an indoor queue to wait in as opposed to using a return time. Knowing what you plan to do will help you make the best use of the time.
Lastly, make the most of it. Sometimes it catches you off guard and there’s nothing you can do. Splashing in puddles isn’t just for kids!
