This morning we visited the exquisite “Girl With the Pearl Earring” by Dutch Baroque painter Johannes Vermeer at the Mauritshuis Museum in The Hague. This small but very lovely museum houses paintings by other Dutch masters as well, such as Rembrandt and Rubens. In addition to the thrill of seeing the “Girl”, one of my favorite paintings is the still life by Flemish Baroque painter, Clara Peeters, one of very few female artists of this era.
We also were fortunate to drive by the Peace Palace, home of the International Court of Justice (which is the principal judicial body of the United Nations), and The Hague Academy of International Law.

ASTA River Cruise Expo after-party on Riverside Debussy! Oyster bar, grilled beef kebabs, churros, s’mores… This after an incredible dinner of lobster and filet.
