Disney Cruise Line (DCL) quietly raised its recommended gratuity rates, jumping from $14.50 per person, per day to $16.

First reported by The Street, DCL also revealed that cruise passengers in concierge staterooms and suites will now be forced to pay $27.25 per person, per day, an increase from the $23.50 gratuity rate previously listed.

IMPORTANT NEWS! Starting January 8, 2025, U.S. passport holders visiting or transiting through the United Kingdom will need to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA). This applies even if you’re only connecting to another flight and won’t pass through UK border control. You can apply for the ETA online using the link below.
Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) is usually processed within 3 business days and costs about $13. It is valid for 2 years from the date of issue. If you find a website that has the cost much higher, it is possibly a scam site. Use the below link to ensure you are on the correct website.

Watch out for the latest scam affecting some cruise passengers.

Here’s how it works:

A traveler (not one of our clients) searched online for a cruise line’s phone number and called to inquire about boarding times.

During the call, the individual they spoke to claimed there was a mandatory $200 port fee per person that had to be paid over the phone. They even added that waiting to pay onboard would increase the fee to $250!

Fortunately, the traveler contacted their agent before proceeding, and the scam was uncovered. When checked, the phone number used was fake.

Protect Yourself with These Tips:

🔆 Avoid Googling cruise line phone numbers. Scammers can manipulate search results to appear legitimate.
🔆 Use official websites. If you do need a contact number, visit the cruise line’s verified website or reach out to us directly.

The Secret of Life is Enjoying the Passage of Time......

The secret of life is enjoying the passage of time......this is a line from a James Taylor song, one of my favorite songwriters. It is also the quote in my high school yearbook from the year I graduated. I knew from an early age that there was a whole world out there to discover and I wanted to see it all. Shortly after high school, I headed for Europe. The year was 1985 and it was my first overseas trip, so I joined a tour group. I spent six glorious weeks travelling Western Europe and experiencing all that life had to offer. My assigned roommate was from Melbourne Australia and she lived on a farm where her family raised Shetland ponies. The following year, I left home again, to spend 3 months touring Australia and Fiji. After this trip, I was hooked!

Subsequent trips took me to Israel, Egypt and Greece for 3 months. Costa Rica, Mexico and back again to Israel. In 1990, I had a six-month adventure in Southeast Asia exploring Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. My current favorite mode of travel are cruise ships! Some of my trips had me staying in luxury hotels. Other trips were youth hostels or bed and breakfast type accommodations. There was even a couple of “camping on the beach” or “sleeping in a train station” thrown in for good measure!

Some of my favorite travel experiences include riding a camel through the Sinai Desert, bamboo rafting in Northern Thailand, SCUBA diving the Great Barrier Reef in Australia and participating in festivals like Junkanoo in Bahamas and the Thaipusam festival in Penang Malaysia.

My boys are now teenagers and they are starting to create their own lifelong memories; the kind that only world travel can create. Let me help you and your family create YOUR lifelong memories. There is only one question to answer.........where to next?
