Lunch buddy!
Meet Bambi. (OK, so I originally thought she was a he... HA!) Just strolled into our open air restaurant to join us for lunch. At a beautiful lodge overlooking the vast Sacred Valley, this serene space fuses mountains and outdoor living with Andean animals everywhere. Got to feed the llamas and alpacas, connect with nature and enjoy an authentic Peruvian lunch cooked on hot stones buried inside the earth. Pure magic.

Gorgeous trail winding along the southwest coast of Portugal. Breathtaking views of rocky cliffs, deserted beaches, and coastal landscapes. There was barely anyone there! So fun to meander for hours visiting with friends, taking in the sounds of the surf crashing, feel the Atlantic breezes and smell the salty sea.

Hundreds of photos to share and stories to tell from Portugal, but this gets to the heart of everything...
Sitting in a sweet little cafe in a local village. The waiter and waitress are the owners. Their 20-something son is the cook. The warmth and hospitality is felt from the moment you arrive. Everything is homemade, even the ice cream. Passion goes into every spoonful.
Our driver Filipe joins us at lunch. After dessert and conversation, he pops out his accordion for fun and starts to serenade all of us. We're all in awe. The man has mad skills. His instrument is a true work of art and history, being 150 years old. The husband and wife owners stop waiting tables for a moment, spontaneously jump up to dance, and everyone in the cafe is absolutely enchanted.
Please enjoy this beautiful moment of joy and togetherness brought to you by the kind people of Portugal. It literally made me cry. The world need more of THIS.

Alaska Glacier Heli Adventure
Alaska Helicopter Adventure: One of my all-time favorite experiences.
Pure awe soaring over a glacier. What a thrill to ascend vertically, gaze out the giant window and take in the mind blowing scenery. It felt like something out of a dream. As the chopper banks and zips effortlessly over the landscape, you get right up close to the mountains and diverse terrain before gently touching down. We did 3 vastly different landing sites: knee deep snow in a mountain bowl, a rocky overlook with an eternal vista and finished with these other-worldly blue melt pools. Plenty of time to walk around and explore. Even got to drink ice cold glacier water right from the pool!
Many thanks to Visit Anchorage for this incredible opportunity.
Dall's porpoise sighting on our recent Alaska adventure! These chubby little fellas are impressively fast racing next to our high speed catamaran.
Enjoyed a scenic full day cruise on Prince William Sound. Also saw sea otters, sea lions, orca whales, mountain goats and countless glaciers. Had a hearty bowl of salmon chowder to warm up and a festive cocktail made with glacier ice to cap off the day.

Alaska Road Trip
Yup. Everything's big in Alaska.
Immense mountains. Grand views. Magnificent road trips. Endless open spaces. Big ol' animals. Giant burgers. Overflowing beers and even more hospitality.
Started my stay with a few days exploring solo. Alaska is well suited to safe 'n easy self-drive adventures. Just rent a car and go. Because the 49th State is so huge, there will definitely be travel time between some of the far-flung places to get to your next adventure. Alternatively, we can arrange a comfy van and a local driver guide for your vacation. This adds countless colorful stories, fun local facts, rich history and recommendations to your road trippin'.

Next stop: Lofoten!
The beauty of this place... staggering.
Started in a snowstorm, then popped out of the clouds to enjoy one of the most spectacular plane landings I've ever experienced. After multiple puddle jumper flights in pretty wild weather, I can tell you the pilots of Widerøe know what they're doing. Our landings were effortless.
Lofoten is an archipelago in Norway high above the Arctic Circle, famous for its jaw-dropping scenery. Surrounded by majestic mountains, deep fjords, squawking seabirds, surf-swept beaches and quaint fishing villages, the region is known for midnight sun in summer and northern lights in winter. Although wild landscapes are the draw, it is the local cuisine, warm people, rich history and unique artwork that offer the true magic.
Bonus: Lofoten is a sustainable destination, committed to reducing the negative effects of tourism and strengthening the positives.

Before the big 10 hour winter hike to Trolltunga, our guides gave us a lift 2.5 miles up the mountain road on snowmobiles to the trailhead. Such a fun way to start the day! After the hike, to get back down to the parking lot, you ride on a snow racer. It's like a mini sled on skis with a steering wheel and a brake. Our group sure had fun. OK- Full disclosure: I was so dang tired, I was afraid I'd fly off of a mountain curve, so I asked for a snowmobile ride back down. Thankfully our guide obliged. :) Cruising on a heated seat back down the mountain just after sunset, cool wind in my hair... definitely a highlight of the trip!
