Love your family...and your space? We've been staying at + when we visit my family in WI for Thanksgiving, and it's made our holiday even more magical. It's all the joy of family time with enough chill time to feel like vacation.

What a magical weekend of trees, handcraft, and good food. The first annual Nordic Craft + Food Weekend started with harvesting Birch and ended with a hearty smörgåsbord featuring our newly carved spreaders. Here are the highlights:

🪓 Carving instruction by our patient and inspirational leader of Twin Cities Makers Circle.
🙌 Our small group was big on carving and woods knowledge and in addition to Anna's skills we learned so much from one another.
✨ Nightly sauna and lake plunges under the Milky Way.
🍁 Lakeside carving circle ablaze in Autumn color.
🌿Chainsaw, fire building, and sauna stoking tutorials by yours truly.
🔥 Amazing Nordic meals made by the group, including open fire cooking.
🥕 Picked-at-peak-ripeness bounty supplied by our wonderful local farmers : Bryndlewood Gardens / ET Natural Farm / / Happy Squatch Farm

Mallard Point takeover! As my friend put it, it’s a joy to spend one of the coldest weekends this year with friends who ‘know how to do winter’. We spent the days getting carving lessons after harvesting a birch from the woods, watercoloring, reading, taking saunas, and cooking together (lamb roast!). We also got bundled up and took walks in the woods, shoveled a rink, skated under the stars, and went Nordic skiing. It was a beautiful dance between the frigid landscape outside ❄️ and the warmth of company inside 🔥
