On this day in 1992, Voyage of The Little Mermaid opened at Disney-MGM Studios (now Disney's Hollywood Studios)! The show, which has been closed since 2020, will debut later this summer as The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure! The reimagined show will feature favorite songs from the movie and brand new sets, digital puppets, live performers, and visuals. On this day in 2019, Disney’s Riviera Resort opened! The resort, which was inspired by Walt and Lillian Disney’s travels throughout Europe and the Mediterranean coastline, is one of four resorts that is part of the Disney Skyliner gondola system.

The resort offers a variety of rooms from cozy Tower Studios to spacious villas with up to 3 bedrooms. Multiple dining locations include Le Petite Café (named after the Disney film, The Aristocats), Primo Piatto, Bar Riva, and Topolino's Terrace, which is situated on the rooftop of the resort.

On this day in 2001, the TriceraTop Spin ride opened in DinoLand USA at Disney's Animal Kingdom!

The ride won't be around for much longer, as Disney will soon close DinoLand USA and retheme the entire 11 acres into the new Tropical Americas land, which is set to open in 2027. The new themed land will feature an Encanto-themed ride, a carousel, and the current DINOSAUR attraction will be rethemed to an Indiana Jones ride.
