I love this view (and music) of Lombard Street!
Often called the "crookedest street in the world" (though it's not even the crookedest street in the city!) Lombard is a wonderful and quirky place in SF.
It may surprise you, but this is not one of the busier times on the street. If you come to San Francisco in July or August, there will often be lineups of 30-45 minutes just to make the one minute drive down this windy road!
TOUR GUY TIP: If you want to go to Lombard, my favorite way is to take a famous cable car ride! If you're staying at a hotel in Union Square, it's a perfect spot to pick up the ride. Head over to the corner of Powell Street and Market Street, and you can get in line. When you get to the front of the line, make sure the car says "Powell and Hyde" and not "Powell and Mason." The Powell-Hyde line is the right one that will take you to this spot. And have fun!

Have you visited the secret French village here?
Named for the architect who designed the village, Thornburg Village is a neighborhood most people here have never heard of. Located just across the San Francisco Bay in Berkeley (next to the university), this is one of my favorite old historic spots in the area.
Have you ever seen the Disney movie Beauty and the Beast? Like the video says, if you visit this neighborhood, I guarantee that this will remind you of the old provincial town in the movie!
I love little hidden spots like this in the middle of major cities. It really brings home the incredible stories about the area.
TOUR GUY TIP: Can you believe that Jack Thornburg, the architect who designed this area, was only 21 years old at the time? He wanted to hide this little village, so when you’re driving down the major street called Hearst, you won’t even notice it. But if you turn off Hearst and head down Spruce, you’ll see a couple of old European-style buildings. If you turn down that little cobbled alleyway, you’ll find this secret spot tucked away. It’s such a cool secret, I guarantee you if you ask 10 locals about the area, only 1 of them will know about it!

A Chinatown Walking Tour
Hello friends! People have been asking me to create videos of San Francisco, so today I'm giving you one! It's a walking tour of Chinatown I put together. I would love to hear what you think about it. And if you want to see more videos like this, please tell me in the comments. Thank you!! 👍👍👍
Normally I post my favorite photos of SF, but today we get a video!
Lombard Street is already such a beautiful spot in the city. But then when you add the perfectly timed sunrise, it gets even more incredible!
We call this the "Crookedest Street in the World!" (Although that is totally a lie--it's definitely not the windiest road around, but it's still fun to say).
TOUR GUY TIP: If you want to get up to this spot, we will very soon be able to take our historic cable car, which will be reopening very soon! And if you arrive before the cable car is in operation, don't worry! You can easily walk to Lombard Street from downtown SF, or from Fisherman's Wharf. It's not far from either area. Just take a walk on Columbus Avenue from one of these places, and it will lead you right to Lombard.

How many people know of this waterfall in the Bay Area? 😳 🌊
Known as Alamere Falls, and located just north of the city along the Point Reyes National Seashore, this is one of only two "tidefalls" along the entire 850 mile California coastline. A tidefall is a rare and special phenomenon when a river flows off a coastal cliff directly into the ocean. So we are very lucky to have one within easy driving distance!
One of the best parts of living here is incredibly easy access to some of the most beautiful open space in the world. Whether you're visiting the redwood forests, the snow capped mountains, or amazing coastal cliffs, we can get all these places very easily and quickly here!
I think it's such a cool spot! Have you ever visited these falls?
TOUR GUY TIP: If you'd like to visit Alamere Falls, you can drive out to the Palomarin Trailhead outside of Bolinas. From there, it is about a 4 mile (6 km) walk to the top of the falls, or about 6 mils (9 km) to the bottom of the falls. (Trust me, it's way safer than trying to climb down the cliffs!)
