It was a great day with learning to fly fish. I caught several little trout and a medium one. Thomas landed a monster.

Highly recommended for a great all-inclusive guided experience! You can't beat the secret locations with red tailed hawks and gorgeous mountain valley scenery.

Red efts always remind me of hiking with my friends at the Green River Preserve. Efts are the juvenile stage of the Eastern newt.

Only pick them up gently and with wet hands. Their color warms of a powerful tetrodotoxin (poison). Don't eat them.

Rhododendrons curl up for protection in the cold. They are preventing thawing in the sun and refreezing to protect the leaves. These two photos are taken at 15 and 25 degrees. Can you tell which is which?

Another sweet sign of spring in the southern Appalachians despite a cold April day full of snow and sleet. We almost literally stumbled onto this little bunny in the woods. Happy early Easter!
