With Laodyssey, you will enjoy 3 nights at Pullman Luang Prabang a destination in itself that resembles its own peaceful village, located in the secluded countryside.✨

In keeping with Luang Prabang’s cultural heritage, the low-rise architecture is a contemporary nod to traditional Laotian influences and Lao terraced housing. Every balcony offers a gorgeous mountain view.

The setting is spectacular - built on and around lush rice paddies. What’s really interesting about the way this resort operates is the rice paddies harvest every three months and the staff each receives 10 kilos of sticky rice to take home... that’s on top of the resort restaurant serving their own rice!

Reserve your spot now and discover all the luxuries it has to offer this October with Laodyssey Retreat.✨

The sun somehow sets differently here in Laos... it’s so orange and beautiful. Driving on the dry river bed of the Sekong river and reflecting back on how just months ago during monsoon season this same river overflowed and flooded hundreds and hundreds of village homes. Take an odyssey to Laos with us and experience the beauty and mystery of this beloved land.

Buddha Park (Wat Xieng Khuan)- a collection of over 200 Buddhist and Hindu statues scattered in a garden like setting is one of the sites you will visit on our retreat.
It has such a distinct ancient feel and if you look closely you’ll uncover cryptic symbols that tell really fascinating messages.

Immerse yourself into the Lao culture by visiting some of their morning markets that’s bursting with energy from villagers selling so many different products to support their families. You can buy handicrafts handmade by a 89 year old man and sold (bamboo wooden spoons) at the market by his lovely wife as pictured. You will experience various tastes of Laos from tropical fruits to freshly prepared dishes or you can pick up some fresh organic vegetables too. Be prepared to see live animals as well. It’s a different culture from us where meat comes from the fridge section. So please be understanding and not judgmental of their way of life. They hunt for basic needs and survival not for gaming.

Rice is life in Laos and many other Asian countries. It feeds and nourishes not only the body but it enriches the soul. It’s as old as time yet it’s more precious then we’ll ever realize. Each grain of rice is the result of hard working hands that grow and gather the rice for us to comfortably enjoy. Growing up we were always told to not waste a bite of rice. Looking at these photos we can truly understand why. Step into Laos and you’ll feel a deeper understanding...

About Us

📷 Hi, our names are Brittany and La and we are the co-founders of Laodyssey Retreat. We are two entrepreneurial spirits bonded by our passion for sharing Lao culture, which makes us somewhat similar, but we are both very different.

Empowering individuals in Laos is one of our main priorities in life. Brittany is the Founder of A Million Elephants, a brand dedicated to supporting artisans in Laos and sharing Lao culture in North America. La, is the Founder of the Jai Lao Foundation, a charity that has been working in Laos and providing aid for over 10 years. Aside from our career paths, we also love to promote Lao food by cooking, teaching and most importantly eating it. This is especially true for Brittany, who does all of this on her YouTube channel - KinKhaoWithUs. La on the other hand takes the cake when it comes to cooking so don't ever follow her food blog - LivingOutLao'd if you don't want to get left hungry!

We are also big on travelling the world, but our favorite and most visited destination is Laos. Although Brittany lives in Ontario, Canada and La lives in Northern California, we still both have family that live in Laos. Visiting family on every trip back continues to be a priority, because that's what's most important to us. Through our frequent travels to Laos, we are blessed to know the absolute best that Laos has to offer. Laos is so rich in culture and if you've ever met a Lao person, you know they are just as hospitable. The country has a simple, old world charm, where you won't find huge buildings or fancy malls, but you will see plenty of locals selling whatever they do best on every street.

Time moves slow and life is calming like the flow of the Mekong River. Wandering through the winding roads, up around the mountains, you will see lush jungle under clear skies. Out of our desire to share the beautiful country of Laos as we know it, we have created Laodyssey Retreat.
