I would like to challenge everyone who is a host and has never booked a stay in another Airbnb to try it out today. As they say "Kutembea kwingi ni kuona mengi" which can be translated to mean "by walking a lot or going to different places you get to see a lot" and that is just it.

There is always something we can learn from other people. So again, sometimes how to know how to be a good host is to actually try out the experience yourself and this time as a guest.

The holidays are upon, make sure you adjust your calendar pricing for the dates leading up to the holidays. Ensure not to price your listings. 5% to 20% increase for the dates over Christmas and New Years are good practices.

Two important factors you should know determining your listing price

1. Calculate your investment in making the property guests friendly
2. Look at the pricing of other hosts in the area

These two things will give you a better idea of how to price your listing.
