We will go here on our August Castles of Upstate New York group trip!
The famous George Boldt, known for the famous Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City, wanted a 6 story home to be built on an island for his wife Louise. The building of Boldt Castle started in 1900 with 300 workers but was stopped in 1904 when Louis died. Devastated, Boldt could not imagine the castle without her and never came back to the island.

The castle sat for 73 years. In 1977.

We don’t want to give too much away as the story is beautiful and tragic at the same time but worth hearing for yourself when we are there.

This will be a very special trip.

🎶 Carole King is 83 today 🥳🎂🍰
We have a sold out group trip to see Beautiful: The Carole King Musical later this month near Chicago!
What a life as a singer / songwriter! Her hits include, "I Feel the Earth Move", "You've Got a Friend", "(You Make Me Feel Like) a Natural Woman", "Will You Love Me Tomorrow?" and "The Locomotion".

There's speculation Bridget is going to perform 👩‍🎤 The Locomotion on the motorcoach:

"Come on, baby, do the locomotion
Chug-a chug-a motion like a railroad train now
Come on, baby, do the locomotion
Do it nice and easy now and don't lose control
A little bit of rhythm and a lot of soul
Come on, come on, do the locomotion with me"

When you see these, which one nags you the most?

1. Not turning off lights when you leave a room.


2. Not cleaning up after yourself in general.


3. Putting things away in the wrong place.


4. Having the TV volume up too high.


5. Dirty clothes on the floor.

6. Leaving dirty dishes around the house.


7. Not replacing the toilet paper.


8. Leaving the door open when it's cold out.


9. Leaving your shoes lying around.

10. Seeing something on the stairs that needs to go up, but leaving it there.

🍩 On our October Trains of Kentucky group trip we will be staying not far from Hadorn's Bakery in Bardstown, KY.
Since 1935, their family-owned bakery has been serving up the most delicious treats. From their cookies to their famous Yum-Yums, there’s a tasty treat for everyone! You know some of our group will find their way there!

We are told to:
"Get the Yum-Yum, easily the best doughnut ever had! They are twisted glazed doughnuts that have crisscrossed chocolate and vanilla icing on them!

In today's stressful world, we long for calmer times. On our August 2023 America's North Coast group trip in Ohio one of the things we did was take a canal ride on a lovely journey back into the past. We saw how it was when one lived on the canal boat for six days as it traveled from Toledo area down to Cincinnati.
We got a taste of the journey including the opportunity to experience one of the only still functioning locks in Ohio.

We are excited about the experiences ahead on our 2025 trips.

Our Traverse City group trip will include a visit to Mission Point Lighthouse where stacks of rocks can be found in the water.
Rock balancing is more than a hobby for many people who often create the temporary sculptures as performance art, as a meditative or spiritual practice, or as a mental exercise.
