A woman, frustrated because her husband was late coming home from golf yet again, decided to leave a note that read, "I've had enough. I'm leaving you. Don't try to find me."
She then hid under the bed to watch his reaction.
Soon after, her husband came home. She could hear him in the kitchen before he made his way into the bedroom.

She watched as he walked over to the dresser, picked up the note, and read it.
After a moment, he scribbled something on the note, then picked up the phone and called someone.

"She's finally gone. Yeah, it's about time. I'm on my way. Wear that sexy French nightie. I love you. Can't wait to see you." He hung up, grabbed his keys, and left.

As she heard the car drive away, she crawled out from under the bed, furious and heartbroken. With trembling hands, she picked up the note to see what he had written.
"I can see your feet. We’re out of bread; be back in five minutes."

We are going to see their Christmas season production of A Savior Has Come next Wednesday on our Gatlinburg trip.
Today is the last day of “Women of Grace”. In honor of this day, they asked their cast what God has taught them through performing in the show.

One of our favorite group experiences this year was walking into this room in March where we felt as though we'd been invited to dinner at Biltmore Estate in 1904.
Dinner with the Vanderbilts required some of the most extravagant attire of the era. Women’s dresses were made of luxurious silks and satins, adorned with their finest jewels. Men wore white tie, which is more formal than a modern tuxedo.

Dinner featured between six and ten courses, including soup, fish, entrée, roast or relevé, game and salad, dessert, and coffee to aid digestion. Dinner also featured as many as five different wine pairings—illustrating George Vanderbilt’s interest in fine wines.

We love taking passengers to unique places 🙂

In 2022, an iconic and beloved piece of the National Eagle Center was removed during renovation work. The life-sized replica Bald Eagle nest on the first floor was a staple for guests. Nearly every day since they re-opened in June of 2022, someone has asked staff what happened to the nest or said that they wanted it back. They are excited to announce that THE NEST IS BACK!

EAGLE 101: HOW MUCH SPACE IS THERE BETWEEN EAGLE NESTS? (NESTING DENSITY)

Today's Eagle 101 topic addresses a question submitted by Dale Mounger who wants to know, "How many miles apart do Eagles build their nests from other Eagle nests? Great question, Dale!

Bald Eagles like their space. A LOT of space! It is not unheard of for pair of Bald Eagles to closely watch and guard an area of up to a mile radius around a nest. However, that is the ideal scenario for them, but reality has many variables that come into place.

First, sometimes when you see two nests in close proximity to each other, it turns out that they actually belong to the same pair of eagles! "Auxilliary nests" are fairly common and are exactly as they sound - a second nest. Now, a pair of Bald Eagles will only utilize one nest in any given year, but they may occasionally switch between them from year to year. So two nests close to each other do not necessarily belong to different pairs.

Second, population density plays a big role in how closely nests are to each other in a given area. In a region where the Bald Eagle population density is lower, you likely will have pretty sizable distances between them. But in areas where habitat is ideal and food sources are abundant (this the Upper Mississippi River, Washington state, Sitka, Alaska), the population density is likely to be much higher and nests generally closer to each other as a result.

One noticeable aspect of the Bald Eagle population's recovery is that people are seeing nests in areas where they haven't for decades. For example, we have many guests from the Twin Cities metro area here in Minnesota who tell us about nests and eagles in their metropolitan neighborhoods. This is the result of population density pressures pushing Bald Eagles back into areas where they disappeared from during decades of endangerment. Now that the population is back and growing, that need for space means that eagles are once again setting up shop in locations that had none for many, many years. Photo by Dennis Becht. 🦅🌳🌲🪹😃😍😎👍

We have eaten at the famed Loveless Cafe in Nashville twice on group trips in the last 18 months.
One of the wonderful experiences about group travel is eating at unique places with "sure 'nuff" good food!
The Loveless Cafe is known for its made-from-scratch country cooking. Back in 1951 Lon and Annie Loveless began serving homemade fried chicken and biscuits to folks at picnic tables in their front yard. It was after World War II and the economy was 💰 and people were ready to travel. Their place was on the Natchez Trace, a National Scenic Byway that drew thousands of travelers each year.

Lon and Annie’s mom-and-pop business was a hit. They called it the Loveless Cafe, with a flashy neon sign you can still see and motel rooms that are not there. That's where we got goodies to bring back to Michiana, like the café’s homemade preserves as well as biscuit mix, spice rubs, country hams, and grits.

The late couple’s original home is still the restaurant’s main dining room, and looks like it did over 7 decades ago!

Have you seen the places we are going to eat at on the 2025 Castles of Upstate New York group trip?? Text or call Bridget for the trip overview today!
