Taking small children to Disney can be a bit overwhelming. There are just SO. MANY. PEOPLE! Over the years I’ve come up with my best safety tips for traversing busy theme parks with young kids.
1. Take a photo of each of your kids EVERY SINGLE DAY in the morning so that if one wanders off, you have a photo you can reference with Cast Members that shows exactly what they’re wearing that day.
2. If your kids aren’t old enough to know your phone number, go on Etsy and order some temporary tattoos with your contact info.
3. If your kids won’t keeps magic band on their wrist, you can buy lanyard holders to keep it around their neck. While magic bands don’t have a GPS in them, cast member can scan your child’s to find out your information.
4. Put a Gizmo watch or other GPS enabled device on them! Air tags work too! We prefer Gizmos because it gives us the ability to call and speak to our children.
5. Even if your kids are well beyond the stroller stage at home, strollers are an amazing way to corral your kids for navigating packed crowds. Plus Disney is a TON of walking for little legs. I’d use a stroller for myself if I could! 😆
6. Throw some cheap LED fairy lights around your stroller at night!! Not only does it make it easier to find your stroller in the dark after a ride, people are less likely to trip over your babies in the stroller when it’s all lit up!
7. While we’ve never used one, I am ALL FOR the little backpack or wrist harnesses. If you’ve got a runner, by all means you do whatever it takes to keep that kiddo safe!!
Beyond those, we always talk to our kids about tricky people and safe people…who to go to if they get lost. Cast members are number one, but if they can’t find a cast member, go to another mom with kids!! She’ll know what to do.
ALSO - if you do lose a kiddo, DONT STAY SILENT! One of the best tips I’ve ever heard is to start shouting that your looking for a little boy in red shorts with a white shirt, b
I’m feeling it this morning….now if only Disneyland would drop their 2024 packages already….!
