Sharing a shout out I received from one of my most loyal and productive clients, who returned yesterday with a group of almost 40 people, from a trip to the Dolomites region in Italy (credit to him and Marney for the pictures, which I am always appreciate receiving to feel like I am with the group).

Day 8: farewell Rome...till next time. Off to my beautiful region of Liguria to give mamma a big hug and fill my eyes with the beauty of the place where I grew up.

Day 7 in Rome: enjoyed a beautiful excursion outside of the capital and traveled to Tivoli to visit the magnificent Villa d'Este and its gardens. This is a UNESCO world heritage site.

Day 6 in Rome: morning guided tour of the Basilica of St. Paul outside the Walls.
Afternoon tour of Church and Catacombs of San Clemente and short visit at the Chiesa del Gesu'.
Evening dinner at Abruzzi restaurant and stroll of Rome by night with a delicious gelato.

Day 5 in Rome: today was spent in the Vatican, with Mass in St. Peter's basilica, then visiting the Vatican museums with the Sistine chapel, and a very special visit to the Scavi. Quite busy inside the Vatican museums even if we are still in low season.

Day 4 in Rome: we headed north to the Umbria region to learn about olive oil production and cooking homemade "umbrichelli" pasta and meat sauce at the family run Oleificio Bartolomei. Today we also visited Orvieto with its magnificent Duomo. A wonderful day away from the busy life in the city

Day 3 in Rome: Early Mass at Santa Maria alle Fornaci, followed by a relaxed breakfast and walk to St. Peter's for the Angelus. Afternoon Ancient Rome tour and Roman forum. Another marvelous day in the Eternal City

Honored to join our first group of 2024 in Rome.
It has been a wonderful two days. Day 1 included a guided tour of Baroque Rome, with Trevi fountain, Navona square and Pantheon, and while walking we also saw some of the most important Italian government buildings, such as Palazzo Chigi and Palatino. Day 2 included visits to the basilica of Saint Mary Major, Saint John in Lateran and Holy Stairs. During our free time we visited the Campo dei Fiori and the church of Santo Spirito in Sassia with the relics of Saint Faustina. Our hotel is near St. Peter's basilica, so it's always a spectacular view...but a tour of the Papal Basilica is scheduled in the coming days. Absolutely blessed with marvelous weather too.

In March I travelled with a group I organized to Scotland and Ireland.
We had a fabulous time. We were blessed with good weather for the most part, and travelling in the lower season allowed the group good rates and no fights with crowds.

it has been nearly 6 months since my last post. Covid-19 has affected all our lives and businesses, and it has not been easy.
While keeping healthy is the most important thing we can do right now, we are also thinking back at the memories we created while travelling, and we look forward to the time when we can travel again.
Travel is adventure and adaptability, and we'll be ready to adapt to new standards of travel when we'll have the opportunity to do so again.
in the meantime, Marney and I are staying positive and look forward to reconnecting , and planning new European adventures in the future.
I am posting pictures of some of the things I miss: open air markets, gelato, pasta, the sea, Italy and the enrichment that travel brings in general.

Today we visited the Plitvice lakes national park, which has been declared a UNESCO site in 1979. This place is absolutely breathtaking.

Currently visiting Croatia. Despite clouds and rain, I am already very impressed with this country and its people. We visited Opatija yesterday upon arrival, and today we continued touring the Istria peninsula with stops in P**a, Rovinj and Porec. Travelling in low season and away from the crowds is so peaceful and the sea in winter is somewhat magical

Today we made a stop in Lazise, a very charming town located on the eastern shore of lake Garda.
