Join us for a unique and unforgettable fossil hunting adventure on Peace River in Wauchula, Florida! Our tours last from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and are perfect for novice to advanced beginner fossil hunters. Our property allows participants to walk in and start hunting, allowing for more time to search for shark teeth and fossils. Our passionate and knowledgeable guides will assist you with digging an

d identifying fossils, while providing valuable information on the geology and paleontology of the area. While we can't guarantee a megalodon shark tooth fossil or a museum-quality find, they are commonly found in the area we hunt. Our tours are suitable for participants aged 7 to 70, and we offer two guides for a maximum group size of 12 (minimum 2). The cost of the tour is $125 for adults and $90 for children aged 11 and under. This includes equipment such as shovels, sifting screens, and nail aprons, as well as premium quality dig shovels and sifters that have been river tested to produce the best results. As we walk through our property to access the river, there is a possibility of seeing native Florida wildlife and plants, such as barred owls and lemurs. Fossil hunting is a somewhat strenuous activity, so participants should wear river-appropriate swimwear and water shoes or sandals (but not Crocs, as they fill up easily and don't stay on well). We recommend bringing water, snacks, sunscreen, allergy medication, a sun hat, and dry bags for any electronics. Please note that in the state of Florida, you are required to have a permit to collect vertebrate fossils. People on tours often say, "You must have an amazing collection. What are your best finds?" One memory that stands out is the Mammoth tooth I unearthed on my 18th birthday – a fossil bucket list dream come true! 🎉

Of course, my dad's mammoth tooth takes the cake, being just slightly bigger!

Another prized possession is our rooted dugong tooth – a rare gem! Dugong teeth are elusive, and having one fully rooted is nothing short of epic. For those wondering, a dugong is like a manatee, and while we find dugong rib bones often, the teeth are a true rarity!

Exploring the prehistoric world is always an adventure, and people often ask me about my favorite fossils! Honestly, I love them all, but there are a couple that hold a special place in my heart. 🌟

First up, the giant glyptodon scute – its unique sunflower pattern and porous texture make it a standout find. Can you believe these creatures were the size of VW bugs back then? Nature's incredible!

Then there's the Peace sign on a turtle shell, our very own version of the world's oldest peace sign. Flat on the bottom and adorned with a peace symbol on top!

Last but not least, the butterfly turtle shell piece – shaped like a butterfly, it's truly awesome! 🦋 What about you? What are your favorite fossils? Share your discoveries!

Everyone should have a buddy. Mine is my daughter Sam. My opinion may be biased because I am her Dad, but I don’t think so. She is an amazing human that loves other humans. She loves fossil and shark tooth hunting, but even more importantly she loves to share her passion with others. In March 2023 Sam graduated from HS with honors. Like any dad, I said she should go to college, but she didn’t want to. When asked what she wanted to do she simply stated “this”! (Run tours) So I purchased a piece of property right in the middle of the Peace River (Wauchula) and buddied up with her to offer walk in shark tooth and fossil hunting tours. This is how it began. One shelling trip with my dad, not knowing where it would lead. Even though we had just begun, there’s been frustrations and excitements . Sometimes my camera stopped recording and sometimes the batteries died during the most exciting times! This is real life behind the scenes, not everything is perfect and goes always as planned. Six months ago I would have never imagined I’d be doing what I am, I had just gotten injured and had not known if I would of been able to keep my fingers. Luckily, there were different plans in store. I ended up being able to keep my fingers and moved to Florida! It has been an awesome thing that happened because I got to start my shelling channel! 2021 has been a crazy year but also amazing! I can’t wait to see what 2022 has in store!
